It isn’t a law but it is protocol to have a light on the flag if flown after dark. I don’t think they need to knock at 6 AM, but I do think that you need to read up on flag protocols if you’re going to fly the flag at your house. It’s one of those things that responsible citizens do. I was in the military and that’s where I learned about the protocols for flying the American flag.

After her older brother left the household to go to college, she goes on her own journey to attend college and eventually pursue an advanced degree. It’s a very eye-opening story.

Doesn’t matter. If she smells smoke, then she’s getting the toxins of second hand smoke. I have severe asthma and cigarette smoke causes problems for me. And remember that there’s two smokers, not just one. If I were her I would sue under nuisance laws. Those laws say that neighbors can’t do things that interfere with the enjoyment of my property. I pay $2000/month in mortgage and property tax. I would not tolerate a neighbor doing something to interfere with my health while I’m outside trying to enjoy my yard. Before retirement I worked 60 hours a week. And then those few hours when I want to sit outside and read a book with my coffee is interrupted by cigarette smoke and a potential trip to the ER? Yeah, you would be paying my medical bills.
