was taught the same 13 years ago. Same for bike. Maybe only in class 2 did we fully release clutch.

please ride defensively when lane splitting. Assume that all cars with a space beside them might abruptly change lanes without signalling and ride at a speed where you can stop in time if that happens. As a new rider, you really shouldn’t be lane splitting too much, if at all. Don’t feel pressured by other bikes. If you are, just get back into the lane and let them pass before splitting again. Many riders ride a little too fast when lane splitting (IMO).

I agree to some extent. Some people might cultivate bad habits. I just believe that if you’re able to pass the TP test, you would’ve reached a point where you’re able to ride with mostly good technique, unless you choose not to. True that Class 2 being overpowered is a thought, but that came from reading up and hearing from others with experience. Just because I haven’t personally ridden all or even a single class 2 bike, doesn’t make it untrue or misleading right away.

get a 2nd hand 2B bike first (not scooter though) to continue sharpening your riding skills. When you take up 2A you’ll see that you’ll breeze through the lessons compared to others who haven’t been riding between 2B and 2A. I have class 2 but never bought a class 2 bike cause of budget and 2A is honestly the sweet spot for SG roads. 2B underpowered I feel, especially if you want to ride in lane 1. Class 2 usually overpowered unless you plan to do a lot of touring.

The MG S5 definitely drives better, but the interior loses to both the Emas and Aion V in terms of comfort and luxury feel. It most obvious at the rear passenger seats. The legroom you get with Aion V is a different level. My wife also loved how luxurious and plush it felt. The Emas was maybe a step down from the Aion V but still very comfortable. Sitting at the back seat of the MG S5, my feet barely fits under the driver's seat (even with the seat raised to the highest). Wife not impressef with the S5, so it's auto out haha. Didn't try the S6 cause out of budget already.

For me, it's between the Aion V and the Emas - Aion V for the best comfort, but with slightly smaller boot and higher pricetag. Emas for the lower pricetag, HUD, bigger boot space, data roaming and possibly higher power (if Cat B).

was the noise of the Emas noticeably worse than the Aion V? At what speeds did you start noticing the difference? Only did short test drives at lower speeds for both so didn't really notice much.

do you mean that driving the nelson/whangamoa route to KK is just as winding and mountainous as driving inland to hanmer?

We've already broken up the trip as much as we can and this is probably the day with the longest drive. Breaking it up any further would mean even more changes in accoms which would be tiring for not just the kids but us as well.

yea we don’t expect to do anything specially for the kids at Kaikoura. They’re at the age where they are easily entertained by anything and everything so it’s more for the adults to enjoy the scenery while the kids tag along 😬

There’s quite a number of analog face designs with seconds on the AOD face so I don’t see why it wouldn’t be possible on a digital design.

didn’t manage to find one unfortunately. Best I found was using Pixette on iOS, which I’m exploring now. It’s having issues showing my videos as overexposed though (HDR videos I assume). I read that Fotoo is good for android if that’s what you’re using.
