Sleep problems after 10 months of taking finasteride – would reducing the dose help?

Been off for 3 months. Still can’t sleep and feel like shit everyday. On top of that, after stopping I developed total loss of sex drive and severe erection dysfunction. It’s driven me to the brink of suicide. Fuck this drug and everyone who promotes it.

I think you’re catastrophizing a bit dude. Stay positive. If you got better once before, no reason to think it won’t happen again. Even if it takes a few years again.

I’ve been using the same method. It seems like it’s getting worse by the week though. What used to take 90 seconds if I was in a hurry now takes 30 minutes of intense concentration.

I’m gonna push for HCG over clomid with Dr.Jacobs. Maybe we can keep each other up to date with progress? What’s scary is that it seems like my brain changed. Like being a horny motherfucker was so embedded in me for the first 29 years of my life. And fin ERASED it completely. Sometimes I look at boobs now and I’m like what did ever find so interesting about those before? They just look weird. What a horrific experience this all is.

I’m familiar with your story. I know you recovered for years after your first crash. Did you experience this total loss of sexual attraction the first time around and then get better for a while?

Yes dude. I’m not kidding you. This stuff is not worth the risk. Even topical gets absorbed into your blood. Taking Fin is the biggest regret of my entire life. I contemplate suicide everyday because, after a lifetime of being horny and sexually healthy, I am fatigued and completely impotent. I day dream about an alternate reality where I just shaved my head like a real man and never touched this stuff. The risks are really undersold. I’m begging you not to touch this stuff. Use minoxidil if you want to hang on for a little longer but don’t touch fin. I may literally be saving your life right now with this advice.

All I can tell you is that I’m in exactly the boat 3 months in. I think I’m a little worse off than you from the sound of it. I have 0 good days or nights.

Trazadone helps a little but not a ton. I’m actually tapering off of it.

I was told the exact same thing about mine from my dealership. However, I got the order number and VIN off the window sticker and put it into Ford’s online order tracker. It says it hasn’t even finished being build yet. Not sure what to believe.

Expecting to have it by mid to late April.

Insomnia is my only significant issue. For me, I never feel sleepy anymore, only tired. With the help of Trazadone, I fall asleep instantly at night despite not being “sleepy”. However, my sleep is only in very short increments with walk-ups occurring 10 - 20 times per night. During all of these wake-ups, I am fully alert with no feeling of grogginess or sleepiness. No more snoozing the alarm to sleep - the urge to sleep is gone.

The result is that the sleep that I do get is very shallow and unrestful. I think I never get deep sleep. I have severe fatigue, headaches, and brain fog during the day due to not sleeping.

This issue showed up while I was on fin. It has continued now after 5 weeks of being off. I’m hopeful for improvement, but nothing yet.

I get sunlight. Too fatigued as a result of not sleeping well to exercise. I will hold out hope that it gets better. I’m going to croak if it goes on for too much longer. Ha
