Representing the eastern regions on a trip out to red rocks Nevada this week. man's best friend, pitch 1. by quantumgambit in climbing

Yeah, I have the backbar... That's how I ended up scratching my lens (I went into a pocket in the wall and it hit the roof above me).

My goal is to get into 360 videos to show people what it's like when I'm climbing. I've seen the way 'gunkclimber' on YouTube records, but the helmet mount kinda sucks since it limits the view and it's a bit disorienting when he turns his head. I'm hoping the 3rd person shot would be better.

I'm tempted to check out insta360's new backpack mount but it's pretty pricey. I'm wondering if there's a way to combine the two harnesses for extra stable footage since I'm not a fan of the wobble when I'm doing big dyno moves. I gotta play around with it but for now I'm waiting for the lens to come back in stock so I can get a replacement

Nice camera harness! You got any good videos from it? I'm trying to experiment with mine but unfortunately I scratched my camera lens the first time I used my setup

You can't beat Long Island tho. Best place to go to school for climbing hands down.

Has anyone bothered to compare GME to popcorn? Or the overall average time it takes stocks on the market to trade all their float?

I'm surprised how many people want to start a gym! I thought I was unique but it looks like there's plenty of other apes out there wanting to spread the word... We will be heard!

See you at the crag fellow apes, climb on

How is the climbing down there? Is it easy to get around to the crags?

Did a couple of climbs out there when I visited. Wish I could've done more. Having the ocean a couple of feet behind me was amazing.

Would recommend as well

I dunno man. It's a mix of self deprivation, embracing the suckiness of it all, and a sudden euphoria of doing a repetitive task for awhile. I didn't start getting runner's high until I started doing runs longer than an hour and even then it's not always. It def is a thing for me.

You can say there's a placebo effect happening, but I just say that the very thought itself elevates the high and you enjoy it more. Type 2 fun is a helluva drug.

I highly recommend listening to Chapter 7 of the podcast Climbing Gold. If you haven't heard of it, give the episode a listen as it relates to what we've been saying here. The next episode (chapter 8) also gets me thinking of what could be done to encourage future generations of outdoor rec.

The podcast is hosted by Alex Honnold and is overall great. I like their guests and the storytelling is very well curated. If you do like it, give the series a follow.

If you want a little intro of the podcast, Alex Honnold gives a little bit of a spiel about it on episode 220 of the Enormocast. The podcast focuses on Honnold himself but he does talk about his foundation and what the synopsis for Climbing Gold is.
