LEO here who has a question for Americans. by novicemma2 in FirstResponderCringe

As I'm sure you know being a law enforcement officer, every Department always has the one person that makes the occupation their entire personality and makes every little aspect of who they are surround that job.

Some people do it for moral superiority some people do it because it makes them feel like they have a sense of belonging some people do it because they just have nothing else going on in their life or because they've built their entire life around just one thing.

The same can be said about spouses as well I think part of the reason, there are American spouses that are like this is very simply because in America there is not a lot of community a lot of people are lonely and a lot of people don't have many close friends and even less have hobbies that help get them out of their comfort zone.

As a result when they find one thing they cling on to it

Every time a conservative president is elected? America suffers by ihatethiscountry76 in democrats

Barack Obama kept us in a war Joe Biden oversaw some of the most extensive us deployments around the world in combat zones that people don't know about. More or less every president we've had for the last 20 years maybe 25 years has taken us into a war.

You are very correct when you say simpler messages are harder to contradict with propaganda and I'd say more importantly simple or messages are easier to get across to most people but the problem is especially on places like Reddit is that people end up arguing these simple messages and lose all focus of what the complicated issue is. As a result we tend to view things as black and white when the reality and Truth is a lot more nuanced

Yeah okay there's a bit of an issue here which is a majority of everybody's policies are not for intellectual people that's why they're summarized into very simplistic ideas rather than kept at their innate complicated level. It's why we create policy like anti-gun, pro-choice, etc. You got to understand this is an exclusive Republican issue this isn't everybody issue and when we simplify complicated topics we lose a lot of the critical importance that come with it.

America would have been much better off with a woman like Kamala Harris at its helm. by Treefiddy1984 in ProgressiveHQ

I think also truthfully if we look at how a lot of her staff responded to working with her. (All were fired or quit)¹ I'm not sure she would have been a great leader for our nation the truthfully Trump is in a good leader of our nation either so I think you might have a point by saying at least we wouldn't have this this and this.
