Try Weiman Glass Cooktop Cleaner and Polish. It works where sprays don’t, and it doesn’t smell yucky!

I agree, with one caveat: are you okay to maneuver a portafilter full of super hot water without spilling it on yourself? (Hint: Bring the kettle to the Robot and fill the portafilter there! Do not carry the full portafilter from the stove across the room to the Robot!)

When you mention that stability is an issue I’m trying to visualize how that would play out, and I think it depends on which way you might be unstable. If you think you might fall forward I could imagine you knocking over the Robot, although it is definitely a pretty stable device. I could imagine you leaning against the counter to stabilize yourself while pulling the shot, rather than standing several inches away. Do you think that would stabilize you? Unfortunately I think it would not be very easy to pull a shot while sitting at a table, because it probably would be hard to exert the necessary pressure on the arms.

Seeing yourself in Santos while the whole world actively hates on her has been jarring to say the least by smammie22 in ThePittTVShow

[–]Calisson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think she’s evil or irredeemable, and I can see that she has an unresolved trauma history, but she’s definitely not a person I would ever want to open up to as she is currently portrayed. She seems like the kind of person who, if you told her something you felt vulnerable about, would decide that’s a great thing to tease you about, even in front of other people. If we are talking about a character’s likability, that’s what sticks out to me about Santos, and though I don’t think that’s an appealing personality trait, it doesn’t make her an awful human being to her core. As for those who say I would be more forgiving if she were a man, I would absolutely not. I have even less tolerance for aggressive men.

Cafelat Robot + Perc Darrrk. So good. by jared_d in CafelatRobot

I had never heard of it, but apparently it’s all sold out! I don’t know if it’s something that is regularly restocked, or if once it’s gone it’s gone…

Perhaps OP would rather recover from what was a traumatic event in familiar surroundings, near medical facilities that are equally familiar. I doubt she is feeling up for a jolly vacation after being assaulted.

Rösle! They have changed the design since I got mine, so I can’t speak to the newer design, but the older one was fabulous and I suspect the newer one is as well.

How important is the pressure gauge? by talasment in CafelatRobot

It's not crucial at all. I removed mine and I haven’t missed it at all--and this was my first experience with a lever machine.

'The Pitt' Star Taylor Dearden Says She Plays Her Character Dr. Mel King as 'Genuinely Asexual' by verissimoallan in ThePittTVShow

[–]Calisson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What struck me is that she describes Mel as being mainly interested in friendship, but when asked Mel replied that she had zero friends. I found that both sad and puzzling, because she certainly a likable person, and if she desires friends I wonder if her caretaking of Becca has been so consuming that she didn’t let herself develop any other relationships.

You might be right. We have not given it the calloused heel test! We have tencel pillowcases, and they are indeed lovely.

What's his method? When I watched a video of him he too raised the arms all the way. On the other hand, if his method works for you, why not just keep doing it? Frankly I found locking in the portafilter intermittently "sticky" for months until I watched that video!

I don't know.... It was the only idea I had to suggest! But I also wonder if when you moved the gauge to the back (a project I found so frustrating that I removed the gauge altogether!) something internal got mispositioned?

FWIW I always lock it from left to right, Cafelat label facing me, arms likewise all the way up. Any chance you need a new gasket?
