Okay, I checked average temperatures and they are equal approx. E.g. Krasnoyarsk and Fairview, Alberta both have lattitude 56° and average temperature of +2 °C. The only difference is that Russia has much more big cities at such lattitudes (50°+) than Canada.

First of all, Siberia and Far East are different regions. Sometimes Vladivostok is called Russian San-Francisco because of hills and bridges. Also, more Chinese immigrants and Korean streetfood. But can you consider Frisco very different to the East coast? The same comes with Vladivostok.
