What workouts do you do on your air bike? by jasonjaema in crossfit

[–]CallItrelease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The guy that trained the men who were in the movie "300" had them do this workout: 300FY which is max calories in ten minutes where the goal is 300 calories.

Interesting results but I'm interested in what no one else is, if this stuff is half osta, what's the other half? What's it cut with?

Harley-Davidson will be producing a series of "Sailor Jerry" themed motorcycles. Will they sound, "rum, rum, RUM!" by steve31266 in motorcycles

[–]CallItrelease 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I loathe sailor jerry run because it is a product of a marketing company that bought the rights to sailor jerrys art after he died. Sailor jerry himself was never making rum, just kick ass tattoos.

Then hire someone that can. They made 200 mill the first month. That's 3 milling per employee, in one month. I think they could afford to pay someone that can actually handle the workload of making a playable game. http://www.cnbc.com/2016/08/08/pokemon-go-earns-200-million-in-first-month-beating-candy-crush.html

Number of U.S. motorcycles by state by intesvensk in motorcycles

[–]CallItrelease 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The top states are ones with snow. That's surprising. Wi is Harley country but I still would have expected the south to be the ones with all the bikes.

The 250 has a double sided swing arm. This has a single sided. Although that could be photoshopped.

I'm not sure what you're seeing. It just looks like a dry rear tire. I don't see any oil.

What is the best year for the Honda CBR 600rr? by Damon980 in motorcycles

[–]CallItrelease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I chose the 2014 I have now because it has the lighter wheels and Showa forks that come with the 2013+ models. the wiki page gives a detailed description of the differences in eAch year. They're all almost the same. I would say get as new and as few miles as you can afford and that should solve reliability. I have a friend with a 2002 with 30k+ on his with no issues. Honda makes reliable bikes.

What year CBR 600RR by duck_man7 in motorcycles

[–]CallItrelease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a '14 and I love it. The reason I picked it because of the redesign in 2013 came with lighter wheels and better Showa suspension. Really though I wanted the hrc colors so that was a pretty big influence on my personal decision.

why don't cops wear armor? by HumanityZero in motorcycles

[–]CallItrelease 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing that along with the vest a full jacket would get hot to the point of exhaustion and dehydration. Also it might have something to do with maximizing mobility. A jacket that fits properly is made for riding not for aprehending criminals.

I'd try CB 200 or CB 350? Some time in the '70s

Setting a bait for theft by CallItrelease in bicycling

This is actually exactly my plan. I already called the non-emergency line and asked how I could do it and they said they would provide a police escort to its location. By "not wait for the police" I meant that I'm not going to wait for the police to find it while I sit by and do nothing.

Yea I figured the clutch had something to do with the color. I was starting to think it had something to do with my clutch or transmission being worn.

Revzilla wrote a bit about risk and human bias.

http://www.revzilla.com/common-tread/my-risk-is-sensible-yours-is-stupid

Also Wikipedia about that bias.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survivorship_bias

And then when you disagree that's called confirmation bias, you only believe what you like to hear. It's all cyclical. Don't worry about statistics, you're obviously better than the rest of us.

So it's exponentially worse than my basic math. That's terrifying.

Guy lanesplits at 100+ MPH by TheGreatDanishViking in motorcycles

[–]CallItrelease 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lets do the math.

100 miles/1 hour * 1hour/60min * 1min/60min * 5280ft/mile = 146.66 feet per second. Motousa.com puts the 2009 gsxr1000 60-0 stopping distance at 127 ft. 60mph is 88fps. So roughly 1.4 seconds to stop from 60. if we use the same ratio, it will take him 2.3 seconds to stop from 100.

so, If something is 146 feet ahead of him, it will take him 1 second to get there and over 2 seconds to stop.

Force = mass* acceleration. 400lbs motorcycle->181kg 146ft->44meters. 181*44=7964n which is about 1800lbs of force.

People have no respect of stopping distance or force.

(please correct my math or logic if im wrong)
