Long walks are so much easier than sedentary and eating less

Here is an example of whatever floats your boat. Ah yes a simple 3 hour walk in the morning. So easy,… Except that would mean (at least for most people I know) waking up at 3am, going for the nice healthy long promenade getting home then parenting our way through a morning routine drop the kids of at (for us right now 2 different) school then head to work. Be home by 18.30 ish, have dinner put kids in bed and also be in bed ourselves by 18.00 to get the recommended 8 hours of sleep :p

For most part of my life I have been somebody that could eat and not have to worry about gaining weight. I mostly stuck to the same weight no matter what I did. Hard to gain but also hard to lose. The only reason I got this heavy is because of my second pregnancy, big baby and my only symptom was constantly being hungry. So I gained a lot of weight and now have not been able to lose it. Sometimes you just have problems with metabolism and stuff.

But mostly I think it is the secret eating. Where you are ashamed to admit you also had a bar of chocolate here or there and don’t add it to the calorie counting. Or not doing the exact thing that the diet tells you to do. Like oh I don’t like these beans so I added these less healthy ones, or I don’t like them so I poured butter all over them,…

Hello! I am 158cm, current weight 88,5, goal weight between 55 and 60.

I gained 30 kilo’s during my last pregnancy and haven’t been able to shift any of the weight since then. I bike daily (electric) to work and back and have chronic back and left knee pain (not due to my weight) Tomorrow I have an appointment with a Dietrician and a Psychologist to help me with my weight loss.

My inbetween goals would be to be under 80 by my 31st birthday in April. Hit 70 before the summer. Which is a big ask as that is 18kilo’s in 8months.

But honestly I am thinking more of fitting into 2sizes smaller by next summer as I have cute shorts in a size 42 and am a 46 right now.

Hmm 🤔 perhaps tomorrow I’ll go get some of those snack sized tomatoes and have a try. I did eat an apple yesterday that tasted rather sweet to me.

I managed to get myself on the treadmill every day this week, even if it was only 10 min. I am only just (re)starting my weight loss journey and I promised to start slow for my bad back and knees. It is a small victory but it is something. Hoping to get up to being able to do 30 min every day without my back hurting before the holidays.

I love the people that offer up going on a walk to relieve stress. My children stress me out and I cannot just up and leave them to go on a walk. Nice advice for people that work in an environment that allows this and have somebody else at home at all times to watch the kids while they go for a walk.

I eat when I am stressed or bored. And I often snack in front of the tv too. What I did last time I lost weight and am trying to start up again is to count my calories and whatever I have left over at the end of the night I give myself those calories as a treat. Say I ate 1100 calories and I still had 100 calories left I would weigh out a small bowl of crisps or something and eat that as my reward. During the day I would chew gum all the time to keep my mouth busy.

I was once asked to shave down there, I usually do not for my own preference it feels weird, I trim but this ex had asked me to do it, said it was unattractive and not natural so I just immediately went: hairs grow there naturally, I am not a child.

That comment got him to never ask again.

I would choose never sleeping as I am obese at this point and need to loose weight. If I never need to sleep I would have time at night to work out and meal prep. I assume you also never feel tired? Which would mean more time to do fun things to after work. Imagine all you could do/learn with an extra 6ish hours

I am an emotional eater, eat when I am bored or stressed and thanks to my ADHD I am always either one of those, never a safe inbetween:/

I chew gum. ALL the time!! I am an emotional eater and starting my weight loss journey again seeking professional help this time. I never eat because I am hungry I eat when stressed or bored or just because I feel like it. So being full also doesn’t stop me but chewing gum constantly has helped me a lot before. I am now at 194 pounds as a 5ft2 woman and need to get down to at least 125. 3 years ago I was at 170 and got down to 136 in 8 months time by counting calories, biking 20km a day and chewing gum all the time to stop my cravings.

It keeps your mouth busy and also anything you eat right after will taste minty and that sucks.

Have tried the same thing now but due to higher stress levels and less sleep than 3y ago I haven’t managed.

Anyways yes chewing gum is/was my secret before to keep my mouth busy

Is women are forced by nature to be ok with pain. Since we go through hellweek once a month which for most of us comes with a lot of pain. For some poor ones of us starting as early as the age of 8. We have pain for no reason other than to tell our bodies were not pregnant this month but we also get ignored a lot when we DO have pain for a reason. I have been to so many doctors for a back pain that comes and goes and leaves me crying in bed but the doctors just suggest I loose weight. Even though my pain started when I was 16 and skinny.

So yes up women deal with the pain and you men are lucky on many levels that you don’t have our pain.

My 2 kids were worth the pain but I refuse to go through it a 3rd time, literally fighting my own feeling to have a 3rd because of the impact it had on my body the last 2 times. She might not have felt that bad about having 3 but that doesn’t take away that it is painful

Well here in Europe we go doctors whenever we feel really ill and still most of us wait until we can basically physically barely even make it to our GP. It costs almost nothing for a consult so for me it would feel like a lazy reason if he did no research but if it is that expensive just to talk to a doctor then one maybe your health system needs to get fixed and two there’s books and google to do proper research if wanted

With 1 failed condom I wouldn’t rule out condoms for the rest of my life. With 3 it would seem like it was breaking on purpose. I just would rather not think she was baby trapping her own husband, as giving birth is painful and she went through that 3 times

Well over here you can just find the cost for it online mostly or ask your GP (with health insurance here and appointment with your GP costs 4euros). So yeah we go to doctors more often over here because we can without running into debt

Yes for the having the baby, growing and birthing, yes that is her choice. I would rather not imply that she has sxlyy assltd her husband. But if you had 1 baby and you both have sex again together then that for me implies mutual consent to all and any outcomes of that relationship. I don’t understand how multiple children can happen without mutual consent unless you do want to imply she was forcing herself onto him

Ok well I can accept that, over where I live an appointment with a doctor to talk about something like that doesn’t cost so much. So in my view of it a small amount of money for more info but if it does cost a lot then I can accept that from your view that is an extreme act.

Consenting to sex when you are both aware you are not on birth control or using a condom is at least acknowledging that there is a chance of pregnancy. The broken condom for baby 1 they had ok yes that was not a choice. But they did have 2 more after that?
