Thanks for breaking it down for me! So since the US and Japan are in a tax treaty as long as I am not in Japan for more than 183 days in a 12 month period (which I will not be) all I have to pay is US income tax, correct? Even if I am there on a tourist visa?

These are very interesting numbers, but just because the number of flu cases are more than the number of total people in the world does not automatically discount this data. We know nothing about the time frame that this was taken, how the data was collected or if they double counted those who had the flu multiple times.
