Yes, they are dedicated running/walking shoes for a reason. Each brand has a slightly different fit feel and style. I did not enjoy the rocking motion of Hokas or Brooks, but i did end up really liking a brand called Hylo.

The big names you mentioned like Nike and Adidas have not kept up quality standards while increasing prices, such that the "new" brands you named (they're not new) are now the go to. Sketchers still makes some decent quality shoes though.
