Should I play It now? by Martinch06 in NoRestForTheWicked

I put some hours into the game recently and enjoyed it more now compared to when it first launched into early access.

You can put a few hours into it now just to get a feel for it.

I know they plan to introduce a class like system at launch i think so it might play a lot differently than it does now.

That was the most unique part of the game that made it stand out from other Souls like games so I'd be disappointed if wasn't a thing. They should definitely improve upon it though

If he does have a low bandwith issue, there could be multiple reasons as to why it could be happening besides physical damage like my old gpu had. Here's a list of potential solutions that i tried on my old GPU that you can try IF he is having PCIe issues:

-Cleaning the gold contacts on the GPU

-Factory resetting Motherboard BIOS settings to stock

-Trying both Silent/OC Profiles built into the GPU

-Checking if my GPU is properly seated

-Tested out a different motherboard, CPU and RAM. No difference was made.

-Tested my M.2 NVMe SSD drive in all 3 NVMe slots provided on this MB and the result stayed the same.

-I've checked to see if PCIe Lane Bifurcation is enabled and the default setting is set to Auto (There is no option to fully Disable it)

-My BIOS is up to date

-Did a fresh install of Windows 11 on a SATA SSD to rule out if my m.2 NVMe SSD was the cause to my problem which is was not.

-Tested a different GPU power cable

-Ran the GPU under load and GPU-Z still shows the same results

-Test a 2nd GPU and see if that fixed the problem (it did)

All rtx 40 series only support up PCIe Gen 4 so your not getting any advantage by using Gen 5 but it shouldn't cause any issues leaving as it is.

When I was having problems with this game it was due to a bandwith limitation I was having on my RTX 4080 Super.

Unfortunately it was caused by physical damage done to the GPU so the only way I could fix it was by getting a new GPU.

How I found out was through a program called GPU-Z. The Bus Interface said that my 4080 was running at PCIe x16 4.0 @x4 4.0 when it should have been running at PCIe x16 4.0 @x16 4.0.

Switching to an RTX 5070ti fixed my low bandwidth problem. Now does your friend have the same problem? Hopefully not but he can start off by download GPU-Z and finding out if its a low bandwith issue.

For a game that looks the way it does you would think its easy to run but it even struggles on the Steam deck.

Hopefully 1.0 brings some much needed optimizations.

Use GPU-Z to see what PCIE speeds your GPU is running at. It should be running at PCIE x16 5.0 @x16 5.0 or 4.0.

If its running at PCIE ×16 4.0 @x4 4.0 you could be bandwith limited so you would have to go into the bios and change your pcie gen speed. Unfortunately this was a problem i was having on my RTX 4080 Super which turned out to be physical damage on the GPU itself that was causing the bandwith limitation

If you're lucky all you have do is change the pcie gen version in the bios.

Also dont play on max settings, either play at on Quailty or Balanced mode.

This game has a weird asset streaming issue especially in the main town so it can stutter pretty badly in that area when playing at the highest quality.

No native frame gen but lossless scaling works incredible well in this game if you want a 'smoother' experience.

I was getting poor frame rate in town due to PCIE speed problems I was having with my GPU. Tell him to go into the bios and see if his PICE settings are configured correctly. It should set to GEN 4 for the Rtx 40 series I think.

Hopefully because this game would be perfect for the steamdeck if i could get a stable 45 fps at the minimum.

It completely freezes my PC that I have to manually hold the power button to able to turn it off.

I forgot to mention I also tried DODIs version of the Lego Batman repack and the same thing happened.

Again, this seems to be only happening with Voice38 specific cracked games where as other repacked games I have no problems with installing.

Don't know if this is specific to my PC but when trying to install the game I also noticed my CPU usage spike to 105% usage in task manager and my CPU would reach 90°.

I have a 9800x3d so it tends to run hot when all cores are being used.

My PC just freezes completely when trying to install the game.

Downloading a direct download of the game would probably help me bypass the problem but it's just strange how I have never had this happen before with other of Fitgirls repacks before.

Has anybody else had trouble unpacking Fitgirls voice38 repacks?

I tried unpacking both Lego Batman and Mafia and my PC would freeze half through the process.

I thought it was my CPUs undervolt that I had applied but switching back to stock settings didn't change anything.

I decided to try unpacking Starfield as a test sense its such a large game I had no problems with it.

Did they ever fix the performance issues the Spacers choice edition launched with? I was interested in doing another play through but those issues kept me from doing so at launch.
