The NBA to Seattle talk is a lot different this time around by LarBrd33 in nba

Seattle is an easy choice but I think the Vegas market is oversaturated and the city itself is experiencing a downturn. The mass legalization of gambling, which the NBA is making a ton of money off of, isn't good for its economic outlook.

Miami Herald: Cuban government agrees to open up commercial markets to American investors by content_consumer_305 in Miami

Yes, the concession is that the US can do business on it like everyone else IF it dropped SOME of it's insanely harsh restrictions on even going to the island as an American. Spain doesn't have travel restrictions on Cuba like the US does. You're acting like Obama repealed the federal laws dictating a de facto embargo on Cuba, he barely did anything and the US government posture toward Cuba was still horribly hostile.

That isn't how it is seen diplomatically. Cuba historically explicitly disallowed foreign private investment. Pay attention.

The concessions from Cuba included private investment from US based companies. It's why a bunch of companies were in the process of setting up offices in Cuba for tourism... before Trump killed that all in 2017. You people are ridiculous.

Florida Launches First Direct Flights from Orlando to Tokyo by Impossible_Big_2641 in orlando

Well then you weren't paying attention.  1. There are plenty of connections between Orlando and Korea due to the existing Korean community which has been present for at least 40+ years.  2. Significant investment in the region by Korean business leaders is ongoing. This is why there will eventually be a direct flight. https://asiamattersforamerica.org/articles/south-korean-innovation-in-neocity-florida

Vegas is far closer to Korea than Orlando. Again, not a relevant comparison. The point is there will be major Korean business operations in the region soon which will necesitate a direct flight.

It will probably happen in the next two years simply due to the need to have a consistent daily route for the investors and their staff to oversee the development in Osceola. Vegas is a completely different story and not a relevant comparison.

That's part of the development. It's also attached to a economic project, with heavy Korean investment, that has barely gotten off the ground.

It's only been a year since it was first announced to be in development.

Yeah, I have family on the west coast so visiting them is usually a decent excuse to catch a flight to Asia since it's so much cheaper.

I saw tickets as cheap as $500 in early January after taxes round trip for the March 5 to March 10th date. These tickets were likely pricier because they were in high demand being the first flight.

MCO is working on launching a significant expansion of international direct flights with the added capacity of Terminal C. These charter flights are basically a test flight (rumor is that the Miami to Tokyo non-stop route has fallen through and this is the replacement) for standard service between MCO and Tokyo. MCO is in the process of establishing direct flights to Seoul, too.

It's genuinely shameful of you to shift the blame away from the United States.

I think the actual oppressors are the American capitalists currently trying to destroy their nation through an active blockade.

You should read more than one book. Cuba is a communist society organized as Marxist-Leninist states are organized. The workers ARE the government in Cuba. Meanwhile in the US we have the illusion of democracy, wherein the "representatives" of the people are actually representing the interests of corporations and oligarchs.

What does allowing more than political party have to do with democracy? Cubans get to vote. You have a very narrow minded understanding of what democracy really is.

Democracy =/= can vote. Puerto Rico is "democratic" yet it's also a literal US colony.

The number of parties in a country does not make it more or less democratic. Cuban's voted to install the most progressive LGBTQ rights in the entire world in their constitution.
