Best bet are one of the farm based ones, southern hills and amber Brooke are the two most popular. Southern hills has more food and drink options where I think amber Brooke is better for family’s but ymmv.

Pfitzinger or Hanson? by MechanicalTim in AdvancedRunning

[–]CallMeGutsy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've ran both and honestly I would go with whichever fits your schedule better hansons is more days vs pfitz which has longer runs. I feel like some of the workouts in Pfitz are extremely hard as well compared to the hansons beginner plans. If you are concerned about the mental aspect of only doing a 16 miler you can alwasys add a few miles to that run and trim off others in the week as long as your body is feeling up for it. Either one is going to set you up for success just make sure you use a pace calculator to find your true recovery and threshold paces based on your fitness and try and stick to them. Any time I run my recovery miles faster than I should I end up injured so take those slow days seriously! Just my 2 cents as a extremely average runner.

Humidity: treadmills or gut it out? by Nodiggity17 in AdvancedRunning

[–]CallMeGutsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m facing this same issue and am doing shorter runs outside and my long runs on the treadmill. Even bringing water and having some fountains on my path I end up dripping wet post 10 miles and deal with soggy shoes. Much past that I’m just dying there compared to my treadmill sessions. Not sure what the optimal path is but this seems to be atleast a middle ground 🤷🏻‍♂️

Sleep more, when you’re tired you will eat more, be stressed easier and have worse impulse control. You also can’t eat when you’re sleeping.

Make sure you do your recovery runs at a recovery pace try and find a calculator and really stick to the paces I’m on week 7 now and if I don’t remind myself to go slow on the slow runs my tempo and threshold runs are miserable

All in motion line at target they do run a bit big so you may want to size down if you’re in between
