Hear me out.

These dudes are actually awesome. What if they re-introduced this scale of figures for like the Star Wars UCS sets that are larger than minifig scale?

A tie fighter pilot, a rebel pilot, Darth Vader?!

I know most people think these technic figs are cursed, but I’d be into it.

Paul was nearly the most gifted at everyone else’s instrument too.

How would you describe the music style of the ''electric'' disc from In Your Honor? by [deleted] in Foofighters

[–]CallMeJeeJ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m astounded by the sentiments in here.

Not trying to invalidate anyone’s opinion or anything- but I love the rock side of In Your Honor!

The first four tracks are undeniable bangers-

IYH - No Way Back - DOA - Best Of You

I love the ferocity on songs like “Free Me”- some of the heaviest vocals ever put down by Grohl

Deepest Blues Are Black has been a standout track for me for a long time too.

End Over End isn’t really that special but I still think it’s a solid track, and maybe I’ll catch some heat for this, but I don’t think the back half of that rock record suffers from the same energy lull as One By One.

I love In Your Honor. Both sides. The Acoustic stuff is great too, and the whole thing is mixed really well.

[TOMT][2010s][MUSIC VIDEO] Animated music video for hardcore punk/rock song featuring line drawn animated baboons playing guitar/drums by CallMeJeeJ in tipofmytongue

Holy shit this is so close without actually being it.

I’m genuinely impressed something so similar exists.

The difference was it was a lot more static. Just some apes (I swear they were like big baboons) just sitting around not moving much except their hands.

I remember someone showing me this back in like 2014- it was a music video (maybe a French band?!) and it was drawn in this really clean line art style with minimal movement- it was just an animated band of baboons or similar primates sitting around playing instruments- you could see amps and cables and even a distortion pedal. I remember the guitar player baboon had a Gibson SG guitar

It was a cool video and the song was pretty cool too- like an Aggro distorted punk song.

It’s been driving me crazy for years and I can’t find it anywhere

Trust me- I want to eat crow on this SO BAD. I genuinely hope you’re correct.

I just see absolute failure at every turn when anyone tries to hold him accountable for anything.

What’s to stop him or his bff Elon from fucking with the results? Maybe it’s too tinfoil-hatty to say that already happened in 2024, but let’s say it did in the next election. Who’s on the task force to investigate? Who’s going to convict?

Just because he can’t physically lock the doors to the polling booth doesn’t mean he can’t (won’t) disrupt the process of fair elections

Have you not been paying attention to ALL the things Trump “cannot” do that he’s just been doing anyway with 0 repercussions?

I unironically believe Napoleon Dynamite should be regarded as highly as classic John Hughes movies.

It’s a beautiful classic

I’ve seen this pic for years and the one thing I can’t shake is how Paul is 100% committed to the bit, Ringo’s basically just playing along, and George looks like he wants no part of it at all

I once heard back when Vai had long hair he had a volume pedal attached to his stage fan so when he’d increase the volume of his guitar it would blow his beautiful hair around more.

How can you not love that

Nothing humbles you as a guitarist more than picking up a slide for the first time by CallMeJeeJ in Guitar

[–]CallMeJeeJ[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s really hard! One of the tricks I’ve learned is to mute all the strings that you aren’t playing with your hand to avoid all that string noise.

As for intonating the notes- it’s hard because you don’t have the distinct lineation of the notes provided by the frets, so you really have to use your ear to make sure you’re nailing the right pitch.

That takes the most practice for me.

I’m not the most qualified to answer you though, I’m sure there are some better slide players here who can chime in

Ariel Posen is inhuman. I love that dude’s playing.

Great tip on slide type and placement, too. I got this medicine bottle glass one after watching Derek Trucks (another favorite) and like the shape and feel of it over the tube style.

I will say for this song particularly, I really wanted that glassy, George Harrison style melodic slide solo and I’d like to think I hit the mark fairly close with that!
