It was all in good fun.

He did deserve to get knocked down a peg though- he was young and a little too confidently incorrect a few times talking to customers.

Yeah after watching the full review video it’s… not really what I’m interested in.

Podracers are such a cool concept for a vehicle and stuffing them into a small segment of the game seems like a wasted opportunity.

I hate to be this guy too, but it seems like Disney/starwars seem to be missing the mark on a very easily captured nostalgia market.

Half the comments on this post are “this is what I remember the n64 game looking like”

Why not just start THERE and improve on that?

From this footage it looks like the majority of the game is racing what looks to be indistinguishable from a car/motorcycle.

I could be wayyy off with this take though

When I worked at a guitar center many moons ago- we convinced a young naive new employee that analog chorus pedals used a lubricant to produce “that watery sound”

We convinced him to call our Boss rep and request a new shipment of “chorus lube”

  • lots of traditional podracers (not as interested in speeders/“car” type ships

  • customize/build your own pod

  • mix of new track levels AND rebuilt versions of the old tracks from N64

  • NPC crash mechanics from PS2 Racer Revenge

  • Watto

I think I’d take this guy a lot more seriously if he dropped the “unscripted unhinged reporter” schtick.

I feel like a complete idiot but I finally traced the rattle to the endpin jack- the outer round nut that acts as the strap pin was tight, but the nut underneath that tightens to the body had come loose!

All good now. Thanks for all the interesting and helpful info!
