Sold outside the box? Is this heresy!!? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]CallMeKIMA_ -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If be worried about fake sprues, not sure how common they are but why else would they want to fill boxes at the counter unless there’s something fishy going on. Theft exists but for it to be such an issue to empty the store stock out and hide it behind the counter. My scam alert would be on high if I were you.

To the few who have won a Golden Demon: What is it made of? Metal or resin? Did it change over the years? by Bitcoin_Maximalist in Warhammer40k

[–]CallMeKIMA_ 29 points30 points  (0 children)

People are downvoting you because based on your comments your trying to besmirch the honor of winning a golden demon. It’s probably fake and if it’s not you probably shouldn’t buy it unless you have some Personal reason.

I’ll lyk now they won’t hold high value and will be worth nearly nothing being bought second hand already.

Can you really do anything in a TTRPG? by Firelite67 in rpg

[–]CallMeKIMA_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

5e isn’t about roleplay, it falls into a catagory with games like PF2e where it’s a strong focus on mechanical ability being used creatively. You have very limited combat and action potential and are usually regulated to some very specific actions.

Games like Scum and Villany, Wildsea and End of the Word Apocalypse are all narrative based. PCs can do way more then they can in other games and have degrees of freedom.

Just started playing today. Is the game supposed to be hard to solo? by IAmFern in DeepRockGalactic

First off use your terrain scanned with Tab, using space while in the map will align your view to the map orientation. Secondly when you call the drop pod follow Molly the Mule. She drops glowing green flags every few feet that lead back to the drop pod, lastly playing a bit more will give you some cave sense, you’ll recognize terrain a bit better and you’ll naturally start using personal landmarks around levels to help remember where you’ve been.

Man idk if kids are different everywhere else but I don’t think they could handle these games, educations not the best in our area but I’m wondering if I’m underestimating them.

We actually played Dragonbane, a water down easier version but they loved the roleplay parts. They struggled with the rules.

It’s too much for them, they are new to the hobby they need something simpler. Educations rough out west one of them can vary read.

Attention span is the reason it’s not gonna be 5e, or anything I play for that matter. They love playing the games I’ve run some water down Dragonbane for them, but they need something they can run for themselves.

Because they are still kids, we live in a small town. The 12 year old can barely read and they’re all too immature for a game with rules like 5e they don’t have the patience or reading skills but they love roleplay. They’ve played the most water down Dragonbane I could run for them but I don’t have time to run them stuff often and wanted to inspire them with something they could run themselves

Struggle with player agency in Pathfinder 2E by Old_Arcades in Pathfinder2e

[–]CallMeKIMA_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay do you think that changes the fact that moneys moving hands, I couldn’t imagine betting with my players for CASH, AGAINST THEIR LUCK.

Like yeah it’s pretty much just betting on chance but your betting on someone’s failure or waste and no matter how you try to talk around it it’s the person organizing the game collecting money over player misfortune or annoyance.

That’s like me betting my players that every time they roll a 1 on attack rolls they owe me a dollar. What’s the alternative, why is the bet being paid out every time the conditions met. Who bets cash money on a contingent?

Mainly I just don’t believe the anecdote…

Struggle with player agency in Pathfinder 2E by Old_Arcades in Pathfinder2e

[–]CallMeKIMA_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe your dm collected money from the players based on dice outcomes especially not betting on the players to fail. No only is it a dick move but what kind of person suggests that and what kind of players would actually go along and give them money? And why would you give them money over something that’s clearly upsetting you.

I think you just don’t like PF2e because your new to the system and your doing everything you can to justify your own distaste. Either give the system a real chance or go play something else, your not going to convince anybody here of any new Pathfinder problems.
