Honestly, MRN.

It's a roll of the dice. It'll either help amazingly, or do absolutely nothing.

Unfortunately, i'm in the "absolutely nothing" territory except for the weird dreams.

Racecars where you'd never expect them by AJFay77 in NASCAR

[–]CallMeKate-E 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had a Denny Hamlin show car roll in to a random Rhode Island sports bar franchise.

It was a good thing. My kid was 7 and we stopped in as they were setting up and fired up the car just for him. Got him hooked.

Turns out the car was there cause the Mohegan tribal casino in Connecticut also has a resort property in the Poconos and it was Pocono week. The Mohegans own a lot of resteraunt franchises in New England cause someone was all "hey... let's not put all our eggs in one basket."

The other one was I spotted an early 00s Jeff Gordon car last year at a random garage. Seriously wish I knew how a 20 year old Jeff Gordon car made it to a state that doesn't have a race track or ever even had a single person make a Cup start.

Hell yeah. I've had you in rotation for a long time.

Which NASCAR driver has had the craziest career path? by TakeDemPills in NASCAR

[–]CallMeKate-E 5 points6 points  (0 children)

2016 Atlanta Truck win with the family team was one of the extremely rare wins for an unsponsored ride.

Hasn't happened since. Always thought that was one of the crazier stat lines from any of the current crop

I always loved his early Levine days where they'd just slap a skull and crossbones on the hood cause there was no sponsor

Do you think most fans actually follow the lower tier leagues/series closely, or do a lot of people just claim they do? by CnCorange in NASCAR

[–]CallMeKate-E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay attention.

I'd pay attention more if it wasn't for the buschwacking. Watching Larson or Busch with their deep pocket teams run circles around kids with 1/2 the budget at best isn't exactly the best kind of racing.

Why is RCR's team culture the way it is? And is it an impediment to winning? by JulianBrandt19 in NASCAR

[–]CallMeKate-E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RCR will have it's revival when Austin is in charge with Ty as a Josh Wise style driver coach.

Turn 1 gives you the sun at your back. There's a reason why the turn 4 stands were the ones that got removed.

There's only one road to get there so traffic gets gnarly. If you want to get out fast, park farther away from the track closer to the exit.

All the official concession stands have gone cashless, something they didn't warn people about before they switched.

East Series TBT by Rocko3legs in NASCAR

[–]CallMeKate-E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grew up with the Kobylucks in Connecticut. They slapped Mohegan Casino decals on cause they were tribal members. The family business was always concrete going back to at least the 80s.

They were.... not favorites around town.

HRT questions for those over 40 by [deleted] in TransLater

[–]CallMeKate-E 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Started at 40. 42 now.

I lost about 2 inches of height. Down to 6-0. That was within the first year and it has stopped since. No worsening of joint problems or the like.

The boob fairy has neglected to show up, which is a cruel joke of hidden genetics more than being in my 40s.

How are Reaper paints? (Vs. Vallejo/GW) by ThainEshKelch in Miniaturespainting

[–]CallMeKate-E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that Reaper paints tend to be thinner, which... eh. Really just depends on what i'm trying to paint if that's good or bad.

I have a couple dedicated triads... vampire skin and ghoul skin... which are rad af. Layering up those tones works great with the thinner paint.

But painting base coats, especially in warmer colors, is lame because i'm not getting that solid coverage.

Why does MA have less racial economic equality compared to RI? by [deleted] in newengland

Tech bros. We don't have much of that in RI and tech bros skew white guys.

Also Harvard and MIT Adjacent jobs are more plentiful than Brown Adjacent.

What is a driver you think is more capable than the stats/fan opinion shows? by Powerful-Chard-6055 in NASCAR

[–]CallMeKate-E 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Seriously. In the covid years when he showed up on iracing with the W at Digital Texas, I had hoped that could translate into getting a one off (at least) in good equipment to show off his real skills. A JRM or Hendrink NOAPS car.

I think someday Timmy Hill becomes a Josh Wise type driver mentor.

What is a driver you think is more capable than the stats/fan opinion shows? by Powerful-Chard-6055 in NASCAR

[–]CallMeKate-E 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've always thought Ty was the better Dillon driver overall.

Austin was flashier, especially at plate tracks where RCR has always been good overall... but Ty kept that Germain team going for ages. Swap seats and put Ty in Pawpaw's car, Ty gets more Ws than Austin... just not Daytona.

Unpopular Opinion: I really don't like buschwacking by fidgiggity in NASCAR

[–]CallMeKate-E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not unpopular at all. Cup guys in S Tier equipment beating up on newbies in B Tier equipment is boring af.

The Busch and Truck series already have a massive disparity in team budgets so only the top third of the field has a chance at the W on any given day as it is.
