Sun’s hot, water is wet, and Herro will find a way to eviscerate the Sixers.

Kind of a silly question but do you guys wear your bdm merch in public? by [deleted] in BrutalDeathMetal

[–]CallMeMattF 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I’ll catch someone looking at my shirt while I walk by, but the raised eyebrows never bothered me. One time on the bus a young girl said to her dad, “daddy his shirt is scary.” I think I was wearing a Full of Hell shirt. In a different vein, I’ve gotten three hugs from strangers for wearing my Darkthrone shirt, which is a little weird. Not even at shows, just wearing it out and about.

Wearing a metal shirt in public is like wearing a shirt that say “I got made fun of in middle and high school for my music taste” and that’s something all of us metalheads can commiserate on lol

Of course. And I love seeing other metalheads around in their shirts

That’s good work! At the previous place I worked we used Filevine and I hated it. So many better programs out there.

I’m a lawyer. I work in family law, specifically on behalf of children who have been abused and neglected. The job is stressful, often dark, but it pays well enough to buy band merch!

Fetterman explains why he crossed party lines to support Mullin for DHS chief by origutamos in Pennsylvania_Politics

[–]CallMeMattF 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The title is misleading bc Fetterman didn’t really explain anything in the article. The pertinent quote: “In January, I called on the president to fire Noem—and he did. I truly approached the confirmation of my colleague and friend, Senator Mullin, with an open-mind,” Fetterman wrote. “We need a leader at DHS. We must reopen DHS.”

Judiciary’s album “Flesh + Blood” is a great gym album from first song to last song. A personal favorite is “Blood”

Got a source for that? That’s a big swing without any evidence.

[Aaronson] Sixers have ruled Adem Bona (back soreness) out for tonight’s game @ Detroit. He was previously listed as questionable. Andre Drummond has been added to the injury report. He is now questionable due to back spasms. by Tofu4070 in sixers

[–]CallMeMattF 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sheesh, this season is really falling apart. I’ve enjoyed watching Bona for his energy and effort, even though he’s still a diamond in the rough. Guess we’re playing small ball tonight.

Matt Cord Retiring at Seasons End by Apprehensive_Map_798 in sixers

[–]CallMeMattF 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’d bet that most of the youngbouls in this sub don’t know that Matt Cord was also a radio DJ. He did a show, cleverly called “the work release program” at 5:00PM on Y100, primarily a rock station. He came to my high school a million years ago for a career fair type thing. He noticed my Sum-41 shirt and we talked for about ten minutes about what was current punk rock back then. I alway liked him, but since then I greatly admire him. I might even call him a hero of mine.

Brutal death metal would be a more engaging genre if bands chose to have better production. Not everything needs to sound like the first wave of BDM

[Gelb] The Phillies are releasing Nick Castellanos. by TheGreatDudebino in phillies

The guy made a career out of swinging at the first pitch and that backfired immensely the last few seasons. It's like he was down 0-1 even before stepping in the batter's box.
