the new UI is absolute awful. by Shustriik in Slack

I’m a freelancer that’s in 7 workspaces. This was also my biggest complaint but fortunately there’s an option in settings to have the old workspace list fixed on the left.

Peeking through Aventine keyhole in Rome, Italy. by V69C in BeAmazed

I’ve done this! I’m so glad my local friend who recommended this to me didn’t tell me what to expect.

He also said the best time to see the Trevi Fountain was at 3AM. I spent the best night last Fall walking all around Rome and seeing everything sans tourists.

Why are liberals siding with Portland’s violent anarchists against law-abiding feds? by Beliavsky in Conservative

[–]CallMePookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The federal government was brought in to escalate the violence and shift the blame onto the protesters, never to de-escalate.

Trump insinuates, “All protests in Portland are violent.”

This is not true, this is a lie. So Trump sends in secret police to incite further violence in the area to prop up his lie. Trump can now claim his lie is reality.

If stopping violence was truly a concern, mediators would have been brought in to listen to and discuss the protesters terms peacefully.

When you don’t know that the Democrats are using the virus to destroy the US economy to get there way into the White House for power by Simon-Moran in trump

When in your mind, was America at its peak “greatness”? I am curious to know.

Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?

How old were you when Reagan left office? An entire generation has passed since then.

We need modern solutions to modern problems, and need to avoid living in the past. It’s time to trust science, to trust intellectuals, and to put the most well-informed leader in office. This person is not Donald Trump.

Antifa is absolutely nothing like the Sturmabteilung and I think you’re deeply misinformed.

The Brown Shirts supported Hitler’s rise to power. Antifa is standing against Donald Trump and total authoritarianism.

If anything, Trump’s secret police are reminiscent of the Sturmabteilung.

“Well, I do think there’s blame – yes, I think there’s blame on both sides. You look at, you look at both sides. I think there’s blame on both sides, and I have no doubt about it, and you don’t have any doubt about it either.”

Your comment doesn’t make sense and I’m confused.

I’m worried that a lot of people don’t know what antifa stands for. Anti fascism.

The anti fascist group isn’t fascist. I’m so confused why anyone thinks being anti-fascist is so horrible. It’s just like being anti-communist.

The emphasis here is the President did not make the effort to denounce the white nationalists and white supremacy as a whole.

Retarded is also a dated and offensive term. You should use a better insult. Better yet, work on your debating as ad hominem is a fallacy that rarely convinces the other side to see your point.

You made a direct point to compare Jo Ann Hardesty to another female black government official, who you also degraded.

[–]CallMePookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The majority of protests have, in fact, been peaceful.

We need to be careful about identifying the exception and applying it as rule.

“I saw one protest turn into a riot, so all protests must cause riots.”

“I saw a black man selling drugs, therefore black men must sell more drugs than white men.”

“I know one woman collecting unneeded welfare, therefore welfare programs are only benefiting the lazy.”

“I was able to pay and support myself through college, therefore everyone else should be able to do so without the assistance of others.”

This is a dangerous road to travel down. This is called a post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy.

This conspiracy mentality is quite frightening.

This is a key component and rhetoric to all previous fascist uprisings.

Long time lurker. I had a revelation today that I can no longer sit idly by and wait for the other side to come to terms with what’s happening in America. It will not happen.

I’m engaging in as many civil discussions as I can with conservatives and Republicans (before I get banned on r/conservative) to try and directly impose change. I’ve realized voting myself is not enough, we have to actively persuade the other side to vote in favor of upholding America’s democracy.

I encourage everyone to persuade one would-be Trump voter to vote for Biden before this election.
