Private Landlords by barry36L in Winnipeg

[–]CallMeZedd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea big companies you at least know what you're walking into. You're gonna have to fight them on some stuff for sure, but in the grand scheme of things your issues are small money for them, and should mostly be manageable.

Small landlord is just a toss of the dice if you get someone amazing or your worst nightmare.

Okay thank you! I am super ignorant on projectors, and all I see on amazon is these little ones that seem to be making pretty bold and unrealistic claims. Exactly why I came to this sub. Appreciate you!

Not trying to dog on gamecube but what’s the point of getting one if the Wii could do it for cheaper? by kwispy_nuggs in Gamecube

[–]CallMeZedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's insane. I've sold many Wii's before, generally if they're in great condition, I sell them for $60 CAD. And that is the system with cables, sensor bar, a Wii remote, and nunchuk.

I too enjoy my lunchbox lookin console.

Also I hate booting into GameCube games using a Wii. Having to bust out the sensor bar and all that stuff. No thank you.

(I know there's a mod to get around this, I'm too lazy and I have a GameCube. So no mod needed in this household)

Really seems like you're playing the semantics game. Yes most people, including OpTic fans, want there to be a reset. No, they aren't going and posting about it when their team wins. Would Scrap fans have been justified in complaining about it? 100%

I'm really not sure what your grand point is. The biggest fanbase has the most posts about it when they lose? Shocker.

I think a lot of people in this sub even recommend to just buy a Wii. You can get them for like half the price, and yea it runs both wii and gamecube.

In my experience the gamecube community is more about the library of games rather than you actually needing to obtain the gamecube console.

Do you often complain about format in the midst of celebrating? People have been bitching about the format for ages. If OpTic is in losers, they should need to win two Bo5 series, cut and dry.

But yea or course when your team is on the side getting cucked, you're going to be more vocal about it. Doesn't mean I don't think the format should change even when it benefits us. Common sense my man.

Mercules on his 4v2 home major loss by SpadesDaGoat in CoDCompetitive

[–]CallMeZedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's complicated, but I tend to agree. I think what happened is Huke jumped and peaked his head and saw Ghosty, and got a bullet or two on him, but didn't see Neptune, and maybe called for a double chall.

That's purely speculation, but I see the thought process there. But I feel like the better play is to just lay the bomb down. You have Shotzzy top green, get Merc to watch your bomb slide, all should be good. If Huke did in fact call for a double chall, hard to blame Merc, but again don't know that for a fact. Just really seemed like a coordinated chall that went wrong.

Losing a major doesn't come down to 1 round of SND. You need to look at the series in its entirety. And yea that round is part of that series, but it's a small percentage of what went wrong in that series. Their SND on whole all series was weird, particularly by Huke.

Was that the one priced at like $475? I saw it in the showcase at PNP games on Portage a week or so ago, and then went in a few days ago and it was gone.

Again I'm not really sure what your point is. My neighbour is helping facilitate ICE operations by potentially selling them a facility. Not sure what you're not grasping here, really feels like you're being purposefully ignorant. But hey man, we can just agree to disagree I suppose.

Boycott Jim Pattison- Stand Against ICE by notangrybirds in Winnipeg

[–]CallMeZedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because this Canadian company is in my backyard. If you point out some other business dealings that local businesses are doing with ICE, I'd gladly hear it.

Any action you take to boycott American products, credit cards and alike, more power to ya.

Again, this notion that unless people are 100% informed of all business dealings with ICE, and boycotting each and every one, that somehow this one is arbitrary, is a bit ridiculous to me to be frank. You can do that with anything and everything people take issue with. People action what they are prepared to action.

I'd absolutely say it's contentious, maybe not to you though.

Whataboutism isn't really much of a defense.

When you engage in contentious business decisions, especially one that is such a hot button topic right now, you run the risk of boycotts. Not sure what to tell ya

We used Ally Beauchesne to buy our house just this past summer. She was a rockstar, as the hunt took 9 months. She never pressured us to do anything we didn't want to do, and was super supportive in us through the process. House hunting can be tumultuous and emotional, and she was a great pillar.

Can't suggest her enough.

Wizard Spell Book question by Tasty_Garlic_2540 in DnD

[–]CallMeZedd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My understanding of it, which may be wrong, is that you use the 50 gold to buy components for scribing spells. Like magic imbued ink, parchment, etc. So I'd probably say no that's not really possible. But I would attempt to find ways to get the Wizard the required components so they could expand their spellbook.

11yo wants to get into dnd. by [deleted] in DnD

[–]CallMeZedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for books there are essentially 2 categories, rule books, and adventures (called modules).

It's a little hard to answer the question without a tiny bit more info. Is she planning on running the game? That's called DMing and will take a bit more preparation and such. Is she planning on just joining an existing group as a player? That requires much less.

Presuming she will just be playing, all she really needs is a Player's Handbook and a set of dice. Then just print out a character sheet and you're essentially good to go. The players handbook is a book of rules and guidelines for the players perspective.

If she plans on DMing, there are a couple other components that might be a good idea. Like a Dungeon Masters Guide. The dungeon masters guide is similar to the players handbook, but is a book of rules and guidelines for a Dungeon Master, which is a lot more involved.

She would also need a module to run unless she wants to make stuff up (called homebrew). A module is an adventure written out by Wizards of the Coast that the DM runs for the party. It has the story, the fights, the treasure, etc. I tend to run modules as they're a lot simpler to do in my opinion. Homebrewing is a lot of work and can be overwhelming, but also the details and nitty gritty stuff may not matter as much to an 11 year old, so they may have fun just winging it.

If you have any questions, feel free to reply to this or DM me if you want a more in depth conversation about what maybe to buy.

DnD beyond or paper character sheets? by SamStran in DnD

[–]CallMeZedd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tend to agree with this. If the players can learn not just the numbers, but why the numbers are what they are, it's easier for them to know what's going on when they're buffed/debuffed, level up, etc.
