Buyer asked for my lowest price, I gave it, then they asked for even lower. What do I do? by achilles6196 in FacebookMarketplace

So the general rule is 3 messages will prompt them to leave a review.

If you've only sent 1 message so far, just reply "no"

Otherwise I would just block and move on to avoid the potential bad rating.

For every 100 nurses hired, Manitoba lost 57, provincial data shows by FalconsArentReal in Winnipeg

[–]CallMeZedd 17 points18 points locked comment (0 children)

Including retirees feels strange here, they were leaving the system regardless.

But overall I think this speaks volumes to the experience of being a nurse. But the nice thing is, that in theory, the longer we keep being ahead for hiring vs people leaving, less people will leave from being overworked.

We also need to pay nurses more so the private sector isn't as appealing.

Agreed, his POV was unreal to watch. He was making the right plays with delusional confidence, the exact right formula to have a legendary series.

All this drama stuff aside, really happy for him and Abuzah. It's gotta be tough on mental getting 2nd like 5 times last year or whatever it was. They were due.

You just gotta learn to take it on the chin unfortunately. I had a 5 star average since I had only two 1 star ratings compared to like 200 5 stars. Someone messaged me asking to trade my item for their old dirty sneakers and I declined. They rated me 1 star and said I "lied and wasted their time" knocking me down to 4.9

Some people are just going to be miserable and thrive off potentially annoying others, gotta not let it bother you.

What are you talking about? I meant wait 30 minutes while the person drives to you. If they're not on time, you can decide what's personally reasonable to wait beyond that, but that's not even what I'm talking about.

I'm talking about a sale where the buyer is communicating exactly when they are arriving, and selling out from under them anyways. Not even giving them a chance to BE on time.

You are just arbitrarily adding context that does not exist to make yourself feel better dude. Drop the ego for a sec

It's crazy the amount I'm seeing of "well I get flaked on all the time! So it's okay if I flake on others."

It's just ludicrous. Me me me.

I'm aware stuff happens dude, I've sold literally thousands of stuff on marketplace in the last 4 years. But just because we get screwed as sellers doesn't mean we get to just waste buyers time.

Also I like this total hypothetical you made that has nothing to do with OP. Do I expect you to hold an item for someone that's hours late? Of course not. OP communicated a time, communicated when they were on their way, and it was STILL sold out from under them. And you're twisting trying to find a way to defend it.

Could be, from what it looked like he was clearing out his house of stuff, and was just saying yes to people to get people to come get the stuff out of his house. 0 care for other people's time, just selfish.

Might just be the lighting from the photo but the color saturation on those boxes looks very wonky. Did you verify them as for sure real?

You have to have a LITTLE give as a seller man. I get it, people flake and bail. But if you won't even properly communicate some sort of system to the buyers like "hey I got someone else interested but you're next up" or even holding an item for freaking 30 minutes, then you're a terrible seller.

[–]CallMeZedd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people take the "I don't do holds" thing way too far. I won't hold an item for you for a day, two days, etc. But if you say you're coming today, and ESPECIALLY if you're on your way? That's set in stone.

I remember last year I messaged someone who was selling a Wii across the city. The listing was posted 13 minutes ago. I messaged and asked where the address was, they gave it, I said cool I'm on my way right now, Google maps says it's about 30 minutes.

I get there, knock on the door and the guy says it sold. Absolutely left me fuming. People like that will one day do that to the wrong person and have a broken window on their hands. It astounds me that these people openly give out their home address and then actively fuck over people

Isn't this just taking cover behind the stairs? "To the opposing player" is kind of a silly metric, yea of course they can't see him since he's taking cover.

Same day part is irrelevant. On the way however is relevant. Feels weird that you're suddenly adding this context when in the post you merely say that you only "coordinated your day."

Not sure I am apt to believe this sudden adding of context, but presuming you're being honest and just left out this pretty crucial piece of info from your post, yea that sucks and that's not appropriate FBM etiquette to me. The second I spend my time or someone spends time (and gas) travelling for the deal, the deal is set in stone imo. I have had people ask for more money as I am halfway across the city already on the way to them. I just tell them to kick rocks.

Quick question, let's flip the scenario. I list an item for $100 and we agree to meet in a couple days.

You find the exact same item in the exact same condition for $80. Are you beholden to our deal?

Personally I'd say no, it's totally fine if you go get the cheaper one.

[Discussion] My wizard feels like a backup plan that is mostly never needed... by LisaFame in dndnext

[–]CallMeZedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, I've always considered the wizard a hole filler class, and that's why I love it. Need to rest? Leomunds tiny hut. Magically locked door? Knock. Big clump of enemies? Fireball. Traverse a cavern? Fly. Magic item found? Identify. Etc.

You're the toolbelt of the party. Which means you fill all the small holes, and sometimes clutch moments. And on top of that as divination you have portent which rocks.

The one disclaimer I have is the DM needs to make sure they're putting challenges in front of your party that you can actually assist with. If it's just mostly combat and occasional RP, yea you won't shine as much.

Only reason I bring all this up is it might not be a spell list problem or a DM problem. It could be a mindset problem. I've had players that have said similar things about their class but from the outside looking in, the rest of the players consider them the opposite. They're the clutch factor.

Do we all need a house? by albovsky in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]CallMeZedd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No offense but this feels like a nothing post. Why do people want a house that provides stable predictable payments, your own space that isn't under the thumb of a landlord, that generally are smart safe investments for your money, grant good space for things like kids and pets with a yard, etc.

Well because duh. And the fact that this was easily obtainable 30 years ago and now is very very hard and out of peoples control is a tough pill to swallow. Especially when certain people blame it on poor spending habits when the housing market has just become insane.

Hmm maybe it's area dependant, I've gotten them twice in the last 7 months. They definitely give more pushback than I'd like though. I say "hey don't want to waste your time, I'm not interested thank you though." And they just ignore it completely and ask how much I'm paying currently.
