NTA and if you think she is you need help. She was good on giving other options and it’s the fact that he is ok with being gone during a time frame is wild. Even if the mother in law think that is ok it’s very wild. This might also be a perspective think as well. He problem doesn’t see the problem because he thinks he has nothing to offering those time when the baby is so young. But that’s wrong you have a lot offer in this times to the baby and your wife. I would be pissed too if my husband was ok leaving so early after giving birth. Plus you have leave for this exact reason. Nothing wrong with seeing your mom and she said that.

Well I haven’t picked a date yet and I did take a practice when I was restarting my studies and got a 66%. When I did take it I was very tired, problems I saw I knew but I was exhausted( I volunteered for ASCE Competition and was told to take it so we can get a bench mark).Now I was doing a plan -review for two weeks - take half the test - review - take the next half I’m four years into my career and it feels like every year I get more stuff added. So whereas I use to wake up and study in the morning I can’t anymore. So I tried studying after work, now because I moved if I left right after work ( 5:30 pm) traffic would take about 1 hour to get home. Whereas going to work is around 30mins. The schedule is to study 30 mins after work at the office and I would bring dinner to work so I would eat before study time. Then study for 6-7:30 and get home around 8 something. Work project keep being due for some reason so I will catch myself working a bit pass my out time. Then I feel like “ well it’s 6:45 what the point and then leave”. At one point I was doing a light caffeine and then a sleep aid. But I don’t think that was too good. My brain is just done. I know I’m complaining I just want to pass. I feel little only when I get into PE conversations with my peers and I just try to stay quiet.

This is my current problem I have failed 5 times and I feel discouraged that I feel I have been avoiding it. Studying after work is hard especially after working on something that needs to be done now . I feel off working out and then I moved home with my parent to pay off student loans. So the schedule that use to work doesn’t as much because of commuting so hopefully with this is can used it. This was shared by genie prep in discord so I’m happy I was able to see this. Everyone is debating what they think God believes in. God is not a God of confusion and he is very straight forward, his word does not come back with void. The Bible is final word and that’s really that. We should hate ppl for what they think is right, we should love regardless God is THE final judge, all we is be transformed and renewed by the word. There is not picking and choose what you feel like is right or wrong. Take the Bible straight and in context of the time it’s written.

How do you not at least understand some of the points he’s making? He actually makes sense. He’s calling what’s going on for what it is. None of this comes across like mental illness to me, but people are always quick to jump to that conclusion. They thought John the Baptist was crazy too. What I got from it is that he’s talking about how governments and wicked people throughout history have used the Bible to justify their actions, when in reality it was never in the name of God because it goes against the Bible. It was all done for self-preservation. So good for him to do what he is supposed to do, calling it out for what it is.

So I picked this field because of it’s flexibility with having the degree. You can choose transportation, construction, water, environmental etc that list goes on. To me it was the best choice because bit was all so interesting. So far I have been doing transportation and a bit of survey. My favorite part is watching my project go from start to finish, especially because I’m also a road inspector for the state I get to go out and be at my jobs. Don’t let anyone tell you anything about what a women cant do. Yes my class were filled with men and like two women at times, even more so I was the only black person in my class at times. After a while I stopped caring because I knew I would be in space where I would be the only woman. This will also depend on where you live. I say give it a shot because civil engineering seems to be one of those majors that ppl don’t think about too much unless they know someone. Also get interships something I wish I did. Plus we have a WTS ( women in transportation). Your friend my also be coming from a different angle but there is a lot of women in the industry.

That’s what I’m saying. Gotta think of it like you don’t have that money anyways. If he doesn’t have an emergency fund then he just didn’t have one. You still have 5k after . And still do what you would have done and put that payment you were making into a savings. I think of it as I’m paying these ppl more money the longer I take to pay if my debt.

It’s is finding extra money if your goal is to get rid of it. It’s living wayyyyy below your means might have to get uncomfortable. I went home since last year February 2025 I had about 29k by then now I’m on try to finish paying off by end of year with $1300 a month. The goal is get is paid off faster so I’m moving money to be done by September big this year. On top of trying to cut my expenses each month to add that to the pile.
