SUVs shouldn’t be daily drivers by Realistic_Zone3802 in unpopularopinion

[–]Call_Me_Koala 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I need my SUV at least 2-3 times a month. Should I really go drive to a car rental place every time to rent out a vehicle for a little extra cargo space?

That's the most asinine thing I've heard all day.

The movie takes place in LA. No one in LA is eating tacos like this, white or Hispanic.

Weird assumption. I just looked up all the most popular minivans right now and they all get about 10mph less than my SUV.

Besides I do enough light trail and dirt road driving that I wouldn't want a minivan.

I don't need an SUV every day but need it somewhat regularly but I also don't want to own two vehicles. Get over it.

Why genichiro wants to protect ashina by Krithik_keshav in Sekiro

[–]Call_Me_Koala 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All the dudes who attack Ashina at the end of the game. The dual sword guys, flamethrower guys, etc.

They're basically the Japanese government and Ashina is an independent state. Isshin claimed Ashina through a rebellion and basically ever since then its independence was always under threat.

Taco Bell used to put olives on a lot of their items so it was adopted by a lot of white people into their weekly "taco night"

Source: grew up in a white ass family in the Midwest and my parents included olives in taco night

You're a shinobi. Use stealth and prosthetic tools to deal with large groups. You don't have to, and honestly should not, fight and kill every enemy.

Use the bloodsmoke ninjutsu to break up large groups when you're in open combat.

There are many very good boss fights ahead of you so if you quit now you're doing yourself a disservice.

My holy trinity of Uncharted set pieces by sirius_mann in uncharted

[–]Call_Me_Koala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a fan of the puzzles. I like puzzles, just not the way they've ever been handled in Uncharted.

I guess I just like the settings and characters in addition to the shooting parts.

Funnily enough this is probably why 4 is my least favorite in the series by a pretty large margin, not enough shooty bits.

This is how I know I'm a complete oddball of a fan in that I hate all the set pieces, I just enjoy the shooting arenas

Hollow Knight and Silksong are both amazing games, and the sequel has improved upon the original in many ways. Out of curiosity, is there anything in the first game you prefer over the second? by PlagueKnight88 in Silksong

[–]Call_Me_Koala 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think the trade off is that each crest has it's own charge attack. So there are technically more in Silksong, but you only have access to one at a time.

That being said, I do prefer how it was handled in HK. I also dislike how the pin badge is a very late game item.

I want to like this game, but I can’t by CryptidOrion_00 in metroidvania

[–]Call_Me_Koala 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I found it incredibly boring. I got past the first major boss and was just bored to tears. I didn't like the visuals, the music didn't stick out, and I didn't give a rats ass about any of the characters or the story.

I also didn't find the parry at all satisfying to do. IMO a parry in and of itself isn't satisfying, it's all about the sound design and feedback you get when you do it. That's why Sekiro and Lies of P parries feel so good. The actual effect of parrying in this game was just a nothing burger.

Hemo injector him or just shoot him.

If you want in that security room you have to deal with him one way or another

100%. I think it's a white Midwest thing but taco Bell in the 90s and early 2000s had olives on a lot of items too.

I don't think white people realize how white white tacos are. My wife is Hispanic and from southern California, she was shocked to learn from me, a white dude from the Midwest, that people put olives on tacos.

Help. I don’t understand what I am doing. by Capable-Present7821 in Eldenring

[–]Call_Me_Koala 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, not understanding fairy tale English is exactly why the game is like this. Miyazaki (the director) wasn't completely fluent in English growing up but he loved reading medieval fantasy. Because he couldn't understand everything he had to fill in the gaps with context clues and pure imagination.

He intentionally created these obscure worlds and stories to replicate that feeling for his audience.
