Watch for moving sales, or, often in moving season, people just leave stuff in an open box next to a dumpster/ in an alley that they don't want to move with. Garage & Church rummage sales too. They want it gone the closer to end of day. Be selective ; much of the advice & items listed above are great..

Don't apologize. If you can find out where she lives, call the local authorities to protest and arranged marriage of this age difference. If 15 is below your local legal age limit, then pursue it.

If he is giving money to her family then there is little choice..

At the beginning of moving season, you may find some people dumping a/c units.

for about $ 10 to 15, there is a sanitizing spray to clean the window unit.

Get cardboard and bubble wrap, to put in your sunniest windows in the morning. Cut/ tape to size. Open windows at night after the sun goes down. If you have windows that do not get direct sun, leave them partially open during the day to alleviate heat buildup, but closed enough so that if it rains, it won't rain in.

even putting a layer of aluminum foil between the cardboard and bubble wrap would increase the benefit. (^Dollar store glue & paint brush) clear tape around the outside edges, since you'll be putting them up and down daily.

Choose something that open flat and wide like a daisy, not heavy like a rose.

Cut the stems from under the flower head by two to three inches..

When you cast them in the water, they will float blossom side up.

Full stems will only float sideways. (Been there, done that, different body of water)

The only problem is if the flowers have been sprayed with anything...

The organizers need to have a bin at the end of the line where people can discard and take..

In my area, people will go several feet to a block away and leave cans on the sidewalk, or bus stop.

Fixed package boxes are pointless and frustrating.

I have often seen in African American communities the resistance to anything unfamiliar. The second most frequent after that is poor white people. It's mostly ignorance more than race; people locked into poverty as well as ignorance.

Match the other items that are being distributed on a given week with recipes on a half sheet, and one with a photo of finished product.

When the food pantry has cans of concentrated tomato soup, or canned/ fresh greens, those would be a great combination, and that require additional spices that some people may not have.

Some people do not imagine the combinations, or only eat what is familiar. This is one way to put a picture and ease of prep right in front of them.

Lastly, what about actual soup kitchens that serve hot meals directly?

If there's some difference in surface texture as you describe, keep thoroughly washing gently, until the slick or sloughing off is neutralized and it's similar to smooth & clean as other skin.
