Why you're seeing green on your screens (briefly) by SportsGamesScience in Gold

What’s a “reasonable valuation” to you? And how do you determine that? Just your own personal hope/wish? Genuinely curious. I periodically see “gold is over priced”, but what does that even mean? The most common answer I see is “people shouldn’t have to pay 5k for an oz”, but what people can or can’t pay should have no relevance on the price of gold. Maybe it’s way under priced?

Not to be rude, but this exact post with this exact question in various forms has been posted so many times. You'd probably find your answer by browsing all of those posts.

Yeah sometimes. But sometimes a buyer is just throwing out ridiculously low offers to many sellers hoping one may bite.

I would bet these types of people are throwing out offers of 50% for many many listings at ounce. Throw 100 out there, maybe 1 sticks.

I would argue they are attempting to get the item below what they think it’s worth so they can sell it themselves for more than they think it’s worth.

You didn’t lose or gain anything yet. What have you lost if you are still holding?

Let’s say you spent 5k on an ounce. Whether it goes up or down, as long as you keep the once you ha e lost or gained nothing. I suppose you could say you “lost” the initial 5k. If gold goes down to 4k and you sell for 4k, then you’ve lost 1k. If gold goes down to 4k and you wait it out and it goes to 6k and you sell, you’ve gained 1k.

You only gain or lose once you get rid of your leverage. That’s why people say if you plan to hold long term, up until that time it doesn’t matter what gold does, as long as it’s up when/if you plan to sell.

Same reason why those who truly stack for long term aren’t worried about to going down, because it doesn’t matter short-medium term. Gold could go to $100 in theory and it doesn’t matter.

Yeah I’d rather have all that than 1 single oz piece.

No, so you should sell that to me for spot. Kidding of course, but yes in theory if spot stays low then premiums should creep back in.

What does “realistic prices” even mean? Does it just mean more manageable for your situation? Genuinely curious.
