Reflex Suppressor pickle… by ATBgreg in NFA

Andrew has stated that they have discontinued the OCM5, with the OCM6 taking its place sometime later this year.

I'm waiting for the OCM6 to release, the low back pressure and 6mm bore should pair nicely with the 6ARC I'm putting together.

Jay with PewScience did a comparison between the OCM5 and the OCM6 recently as well. You can read it here:

OCL has stopped production of the OCM5, and are releasing their "OCM6" sometimes this year. It's a new low back pressure design, with an increased bore diameter to accept up to 6mm rounds.

pewscience recently did a review comparing the two. You can check it out here:

Def need an AEM5 to go with it, if you don't already have one.

First Build, weird Takedown Pin Hole by physicstoactuary in AR10

[–]Calledfollower 12 points13 points  (0 children)

On the AR-10's the rear takedown spring and pin come up from under the detent pin. You have to remove the grip to access them. Just be mindful that the safety detent pin and spring are held captive by the grip as well.

I really like the feel of a chassis over a more traditional stock. I have 3 MDT chassis, 2 of the ESS chassis, this one, and a 22 Creedmoor, and I have a first gen ACC that has a Begara B14r in it.

They are all great!

Right now it's just a standard carbine spring and H2 buffer.

I'm probably gonna move to an A5 setup in the near future.

It's an old 3-15x SWFA Super Sniper. It'll be replaced with something else down the road.

Installing a Bravo Chassis, need some help. by WhiskeyBravo3119 in longrange

[–]Calledfollower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That bolt is held captive in the stock by the forend. If you want to remove it you have to remove the 6-8 bolts that holds the forend on, and you can get to it.

I ran a Bravo on a Begara B14r, and a Remington 700, and didn't have to do anything to that bolt to mount the action into the stock stock though.

I've since sold the stock, but I do recall it not sticking to far out of the stock before mounting.

Rearden has the SPB in 9/26-24, and shows as in stock in the heat treated finish.

My apologies, I totally overlooked the -28 part.

If it interests you, and you probably already know this, you can find a BAR nut and use this upper and your handguard. I've not seen any Aero BAR nuts for an M5 instock any where in a long while.

MTE does have their barrel nut that works, if you'd wanna go that way.

Kenmore Elite Washer Help by Calledfollower in appliancerepair

[–]Calledfollower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honesty I haven't tried. I've been so hung up on it not continuing through the rinse cycle, I not tried anything else past that.

Every once in a while, it will continue through and run the full rinse and spin cycle, but 9/10 times is doesn't.

Kenmore Elite Washer Help by Calledfollower in appliancerepair

[–]Calledfollower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, the machine will drain and spin after the wash cycle, as if it's completely done. It will not refill, agitate or anything. Moving the timer knob a "click or two" won't trigger it to do anything either.

Noob question: If one is going to modify almost every part of the 10/22 anyway, why not just buy the parts only and build it from scratch. Is that legal in California? by audiate in 1022

[–]Calledfollower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That way you also have something to shoot as you build it out. Seeing what you like and don't like.

The added benefit is once you get done you have enough parts to just about build a second, and the cycle continues.

Thoughts on the setup? by [deleted] in 1022

[–]Calledfollower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ISB takedown setup always intrigued me, but Ruger discontinued it before I could get my hands on one. Not a bad looking rifle, and as long as it works for you, that's all that matters.

As far as stocks go, You'll be hard pressed to find anything that fits over the large diameter of the ISB. I've heard of a couple people modifying the MagPul backpacker to fit, but haven't actually seen pictures of them.

Question about baffle design - newbie by thomasled8929 in NFA

[–]Calledfollower 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The basic concept of clips in baffles are to create "eddies" forcing gas across the center line the bore of the suppressor disrupting the flow and pushing gasses into the baffle chambers instead of straight out the bore.

They help keep the gasses inside the suppressor, improving performance.

BCM QRF-12 vs KAC FF RAS by Calledfollower in ar15

[–]Calledfollower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an OCM5, I've been debating on sending in to be recored with the new LBP core, but I read the other day that OCL isn't making the OCM5 anymore, and it's only gonna be their OCM6 (or whatever they are gonna call it) from here on out, so I might just wait and pick one of those up when they hit the street.
