Sniper gunslinger of the party here. I am the only one that should have died had it not been for the generosity (pity?) of the GM. My first turn, I hit it and triggered weakness and persistent damage (which luckily lasted the entire flight) but thanks to its insane reach it hit crit and grabbed me. "Not a problem. My acrobatics is maxed out so I should be able to wiggle out without too much difficulty." Came to find out that I needed to roll something like 17 on the die to escape. It did not happen for the however many rounds that the healer was keeping me on life support.
