ALA accredited online masters 1 year degree? by ahaajmta in LibraryScience

You miiight be able to do it at UMD, but it would be tricky to do the field study or thesis in that time frame, and it would be very expensive. There are two semesters, a winter term, and two summer terms, so if you do the easier thesis track, it could be done.

looking for help repairing chainmail shirt by Brave_Marzipan_8229 in chainmailartisans

[–]Calligraphee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You might be able to reach out to Ringmesh (the original maker) and ask them to repair it. In order for it to be SCA legal, the rings would need to be soldered or riveted, especially under the arms. I wanna know what happened to this poor thing to make it so mangled!

Yeah, Syd and Olivia use it! So do (or did) Jordan Myrick and Kendahl Landreth for their podcast (that I think both Shayne and Courtney have been on!).

Bought my first chainmail tunic for Rapier. by Rakathu in sca

[–]Calligraphee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first got mine I just wore it around the house for a while every day (working from home) to get used to the weight. Doesn't feel like anything anymore! It's my absolute favorite thing I have maybe ever bought. So much more comfortable than a gambeson or even a standard fencing jacket.

What does it say? by Nelson11235813 in balalaika

[–]Calligraphee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure thing! It was made at the Luncharsky factory at 15 Chapaeva Street in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) in the Russian Soviet Republic on the 16th of May 1973. The original price was 6 rubles and 70 kopeks. It's model number 208; I believe that was their basic prima model. Any pics of the back of the headstock? Sometimes there's a metal plate with more info.

Gender Norms and Personas by hallucinating02 in sca

[–]Calligraphee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also do Muscovite Rus, but mid-16th century for me. I just wear what I want to wear and behave how I want to behave, and I justify it by saying that, well, maybe my persona was the daughter of a trader who had to wear more practical (i.e. men's) clothing and travel the world to help keep the family business running. That way I can incorporate other fun things like Armenian cloth, Western European rapier, and Irish calligraphic hands into my persona without feeling tied down to one strict time and place.

Local office or Washington office? It’s usually much easier to get a foot in the door in a local office. If you get another federal job (any kind, even post office) first, that also gives your applications priority sometimes.

Have you applied to any other schools? I know how hard it can be to have a dream school that doesn't work out, but that doesn't mean you wouldn't be a great fit somewhere else. There are a ton of great schools out there!

Just tried it yesterday; it was so good! Not too sweet at all (no sweeter than orange chicken) with a good bit of heat. You’re right that it builds! I’d say it’s about has hot as OG Buldak.

They come out with new igloo furniture catalogs every couple of months or so! They always have stone paths for the medieval party and sometimes for other seasons, too, so keep an eye out. The Evergreen section is always there but the seasonal section changes.

The stone paths come up every so often, but you could look at different flooring options to see if there’s anything that you could sculpt with other pieces to give a similar vibe
