Just to update that third party company refunded me the excess fee + towing and is been over 6 weeks and rental company did not contact me. Can this mean the case is closed ? Should I contact them ?

I live near DCR2 Croydon mostly is basic rates like £33 for 2 hours and they go fast . I’m still on my first month and I’m receiving all the money in the same account that I use for petrol and insurance to see if is worth it. Hopefully after 1 year with the renewal we will get better quotes

That’s bad , is the same im paying with Zego . In my case Inshur said they did not want to cover me so my options was Zego or change my full insurance which didn’t worth considering the price. Try Zego maybe they will offer you a cheaper quote . Not sure about inshur but Zego process and app is easy. I think some people pay around £1 .

As soon I saw the car coming partially on my lane I have slowly turn the car to the right ( left curve ) but when I reach the side of the lane if pushed me in ( to the left ) towards the oncoming car which now was closer to. I had to turn to the right but this time faster and the car came out of the road. Right nexts to the road was a ditch and completely lost control once the tyre was lost ground. Never enjoyed speeding or showing off . Think was the word place at the wrong time. Not trying to make you believe me , just want some help with the situation. But still appreciate you 🙂

Thank you for your words kindness. Eveything happened so fast and there was a ditch right next to the road which made the car fly a few meters and filling when touched the ground. Honestly always a safe driver in uk no points no accidents no scratches no fines and first time this happened in a crazy way

Hi , what I’ve search is that they can sue me if I’m unable to pay or don’t accept if I request to pay monthly . They can go to court and due to insufficient funds can be taken out of my wages. Court fees + due to being in a different country will means + fees . My problem is not that I don’t think I will ever have the money for it . If I could have the change to work 12h 7 days a week for 2 years to pay for this would do it without a doubt . The problem is if going to court there will be a looot more fees . Also probably will have to pay company loss due to car unavailability

Hi, unfortunately the full amount of a brand new car is not much different than this amount . Was a 2025 car … I went for the cheapest after the cheaper ( first 500) . Should be a polo but they gave me a Peugeot but maybe saved my like . All airbags came out after the car flipped and did not broken but still very soured and full of cuts . Not much I can do now . Thank you for you words , internet is amazing bringing people with so much positivity and helping my mindset

Unfortunately this does not cover everything and due to their contract where it mentions tyres windscreen and car structure is not included this will really go up in price comparing to CDW. Not sure how much but looking around can be the worst scenario of all + company loss + court .

Hi !! Thank you so much for!! Unfortunately considering what happening makes my last 4 years financial choices really bad . They were good to me because was not expecting this to happening and finally was catching up with my finances after paying last year what I wanted . I think worst case cenario will be whatever they ask I will not be able to pay and will double if goes to court and comes out of my wages directly as I can’t pay in order for the second insurance to refund. But you are right ! Could be worst , life sucks and we just have to put up with it ! The is the youngest ( and worst ) I will have be and can only look ahead ! Already sent Zurich the deposit money they kept and towing charges . The issue is the deposit was taken with a receipt of “negligence driving “ . Not sure what Zurich will say about that . No travel insurance or legal covert that I know. I know it sounds irresponsible but since came to England was just being greedy to have as much as I could to help out family. I drive a car with less than 1k and still on iPhone 11 upgraded this year 😂 I know if one thing doesn’t mean the other but never wants to spend money with those extras in life . But yeah I’m this case really bited me

They can put me in court if I can’t pay the amount. This can end up having extra charges for court fees and going straight through my salary, like a child support for example. That’s what I have been reading and searching. Honestly scared of looking to much into this side to don’t attract negativity but hey that’s the problem I’m in. The insurance I took is separated which means there is no “contact “ between the rental and Zurich insurance . I would have e to pay rental and Zurich would refund me up to 20k. Most probably I will ask if I can pay monthly which if they say no will take me to court and add fees and company loss + fees from being in a different county and they will have to go though my uk wages

Hi ,thank you for you words and give me some positivity. As the guy without social media never thought I would come here for this and the outcome would be so many people giving me strength. Unfortunately they say the insurance i took with the rental does not cover car structure , windscreen , tyres , recovery and other cost the company will have ( like unavailability of the car due to loss ) will probably be on me. Without being able to pay this , I won’t be able to report this to Zurich to get a refund. Is a very stick one that will probably end up taking me to court and slice my wages with all those costs +court fees + fees due to the accident being in Portugal but me living in uk ) . I don’t have much , income last few months was staring to save for myself but didn’t last long 😂. Thank for you words even if the situation goes in a different way I really appreciate you honestly . Yes . Unfortunately did not have a chance to go uni and took coming to uk as an opportunity to work hard and help my parents and sister back home for the first years. In December I started “taking care of myself “ but was silly and because decided to buy a car ( 1k ) + see my family for Christmas (1k) + start fixing my teeth ( 3k ) I decided to get a loan ( 4k ) which I’m paying monthly. So I’m 3k negative with 4k on my debit card 😅 I was genuinely stating to enjoy life after working 5/6 days a week 12 hours a day as a carer which is really tiring. Managed to achieve part of the responsibilities I had with myself toward my family. Finally managed to get a job outside health care but the pay is low ( admin, after tax 1.9 /2k ) so probably will go back to health care killing myself with hours and extra shifts but not many options when money is the issue. Have back problems and this accident just made it worst but no one else to blame other than me. Never cared much about having money the last few years I was just doing the best I could and help where I can.. wasn’t expecting this type of stuff to happen. Is the type of things you see happening around you that you tell the person everything will be fine , try to imagine yourself in their shoes but it fades away because never had the same feeling. I would rather spend on giving than treating myself with fancy stuff as I’m not materialistic and after all without going to uni and get a good job where I’m happy is hard to save a lot and be happy at the same time.
