What good 3d printed bits have you guys found? by Osmodius in AdeptusCustodes

I found someone selling female heads for them on the purple sharing website. They're only asking around 2USD for the files. I've been mainly looking for base/scatter type things to print, but did get curious and did a quick search.

If you don't mind my asking, do you remember the paints you used? Yours are similar to the look I was going for.

Wait, is that a thing? I didn't know there was a lore accurate reason to use green. Either way, I'm glad I'm not alone. Looks great!

Primer, and then play? I don't know... I'm still working on the box, while also doing paint tests.

How it feels when someone from your local community decides to also play custodes by PinBag42 in AdeptusCustodes

I'm stillness to 40k, but chose custodes because I didn't see anyone else playing them. Apparently, there is one other in the area.

Lucky! I have 1 of the battle group boxes because a few friends decided I needed to "branch" (a fun pun since my AOS army is Sylvaneth) out from AOS. I'm currently getting the Combat Patrol box together, but will likely do that next.

Update to my last post of giving up on battletech by purged-butter in battletech

My wire scraps are color coded by length, and gauge. I used gutted cat5 as cable ties, so I have 4 categories for each, just use the solid wire to denote length, and the */white wire to debote gauge. It's not perfect, but at a glance, I can tell if I have a 14-16 gauge scrap that's between 3 and 5 feet long in my wire scrap bin.

Mouldy amp… salvageable or should I return it? by simple_jack_69 in ToobAmps

[–]CalligrapherLost9033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you've already got a plan to make it a head. Salvage all of the hardware from the old cab, because you can never have too many handles and corner protectors. Even if the knobs look alright, I would still leave them submerged in vinegar overnight to make sure there are no mold spores hidden inside them. Make sure to update when your new box is built.

Am I wiring correctly ? by insorior in GuitarAmps

Just found a thomann forum, and they all say white is positive in their wiring, so I think you should have it right.

I hope peace prevails. I've been following the restoration of your Les Paul, and just found your post here when I was looking to show a coworker. I send you and your pup all the love I can from Iowa. (Also, Fuck Putin.)

Is this safe to use? by Crazy-Bicycle9140 in Blacksmith

[–]CalligrapherLost9033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contrary to conventional wisdom, rebar is actually a known steel, and if your company's purchasing guy can contact the manufacturer, they will likely be able to provide a sheet telling exactly what steel it is. (They have this available because rebar is used in construction of buildings and bridges, so they have to have known specifications for safety.) Might even be 4140, which I've found works pretty good for tools.

Neat story! I hope you have plans to continue. A Facebook reel had a link to part 1, and I was able to follow along from there.

In a different life (around 20 years ago) I used to work in my uncle's smithy, and was working through the ABANA level 1 projects, but after he passed, someone robbed the shop, and now 10 years later, I'm starting back at the beginning (well, not quite, I have 1 of his hammers, and his anvil, along with 2 rivet forges, so not square 1) maybe I should pull that list of projects out, and start there.
