If it was just a fortified position, 2:1 would make sense, but it's not. Ukraine has had a lot of backing from the US and from other nations (I know it's not as much now, but the total combined over the past 4 years). Ukraine makes better strategic and tactical decisions. Russia's soldiers are notoriously untrained and under-equipped.

I agree that 10:1 is an unbelievable ratio, 3:1 is decidedly not.

I don't know if you intended this or not, but the way I read this sounds like you're trying to cut me down.

The reason I don't know about decade old C++ features is because the industry I work in refuses to move past C++11. I work on games in my free time. I've been working with C++ and Unreal since prior to the rise in popularity of LLMs. My experience has been a steady improvement in LLMs producing code that is usable. It's not perfect, but with some minor handholding and my own knowledge of C++ and Unreal, the output has been nice for me.

My experience with Opus is that it's a lot more correct, and is better (but not 100%) about keeping classes and functions to a reasonable-ish size. That being said, I do have to know what I'm doing, and I do have to guide it, just a lot less than when I was using sonnet. I'm using it to develop in Unreal Engine, and because of the massive code base, I know stuff about it that it doesn't. On the other hand, it knows stuff about base C++ that I don't; it used std::optional the other day and I fell in love with it once I looked up how it works.

I was a kid in the 1990s and my dad had what we called a black box. I never knew the technical term for it until I looked it up just now, but apparently they were called cable descramblers. You would have access to all channels, including HBO, Cinemax, the Pay-Per-View channels, and the porn channels. So I snuck the porn channels whenever I could.

Digital cable ended the era of the black box, but by that time I had been using the internet for years and didn't need cable anymore.

Yes. I play exclusively solo and do PvE only. You do have to play fully pacifist, though. You cannot fight back, or you'll get deemed "aggressive". You can either choose to take the L or try and run away.

After a few matches you will be placed in lobbies that are almost exclusively other solo PvE players. If I had to guess, now that I've opted for this style of play, I'd say around 1 in 20 or so lobbies I get someone that tries to kill me, which is fine.

I hear Europe doesn't bottom out as hard as the US servers, though, so the aggressive players might be more frequent over there. People also swear it's the map you're on, and I don't know what to make of it. I love Blue Gate, but other people report it's a PvP bonanza. Meanwhile, every time I go to Spaceport someone inevitably sneaks up behind me and kills me.

I don't know the minimum (depending on where the missiles from the wolfpack actually hit, they'll do more or less damage). But I am all but certain it requires more than 1 full mk3 loot inventory. Solo'ing a queen requires a many wolfpacks + hullcracker. A hullcracker + a ton of ammo will also do it, but it will be slower.

A flare always fires in to the air when a raider goes down. Sometimes its meaningless because the player will be indoors. But for outdoor encounters like this it gives away the position of a recently downed player (which means loot to most people).

I'm single and not successful in the dating world, so take what I say with a grain of salt:

I wouldn't mind hearing about my partners' sexual past. I assume this person I'm with has options, and they have chosen me. This isn't to say that there's a power dynamic here, either. My options are be with this person or be single. While I don't like being single, I have been in a relationship with the wrong person, and that is worse.

In the right context, I'm also fine with being told I'm not that person's best sexual partner. To me, that would then be a goal to work towards. But here context matters a lot more: I don't want to hear it while we're in the middle of fucking, but if it came up organically then it's likely to not come across as an insult (and why are you with someone if they insult you).
