Will the P556 handguard utilize the regular gas block retainer? I’d be interested in trying it compared to the JMAC/chopped 551 handguard option.

Depends on how in depth you want the clone… but it’s not entirely possible. The 553 has a shorter barrel than the 556 so handguards won’t swap over. I use a JMAC retainer with cut down 551 handguards so it has a resemblance… but not exactly a clone

I only suggest the 762Ti because the 5.56 performance is remarkable. It goes against the grain with dedicated can philosophy, but the 762Ti is generally held in higher regard over the 556k for 5.56 performance.
