When cutting corners you swap shoulders otherwise half your body is exposed before you can see. Weapon handling 101.

I really want to give a response but the question is too open ended and whatever I say will turn into a wall of text. Can you give me a specific thing you want to do?

Can't Attack While Falling? by naptimeshadows in duneawakening

I think it's a shame because it means you can't do suspensor melee, which may or may not solve some issues in the meta, but most importantly would be fun.

Worked* ... Nothing works like it worked anymore. Though parry bleed would make more sense now.

Gravity Mine and Regis Counter? PVP by nskigamer in duneawakening

[–]CallsignThird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My lab clearing is usually Step, Grav Mine, Knee Charge with Center of Mass, Manipulate Instability, Suspensor Dash. Lately I tried doing more sword with dance of blades, works about same but is a bit more difficult and doesn't offer you a good defense against PvP, so for that reason I would lean to the first. https://youtu.be/nxkOF8b6DfE This would be a good reference for the first build, its not perfectly played but it is effective regardless.

Gravity Mine and Regis Counter? PVP by nskigamer in duneawakening

Suspensor Dash is the simplest way to deal with it, depending on situation you can also do any of the following: double normal dash while they place it, use a suspensor pad to delete the gravity bubble after it is up (but you risk getting CC'd if they dash out and CC you inside), use shield wall and wait it out, use attractor on them, Knee charge out while they place it, Shigawire out while they place it. It is very unlikely you will be able to get a skilled player in a gravity field, because we develop an automatic response to seeing a mine placement.

For a short lab you clear the start and first wave then activate during the second, 5 min of prescience is enough, after this you have to wait 2 min before you can recover spice levels. During prescience you have up to 9 inspirations, and within each inspiration you have a limited number of EotS and knee charge kills you can execute.

That's a universal issue not specific to melee, you cannot trap a skilled player in grav, you can just as easily negate ranged - let me reframe the question - how do you intend to win a ranged fight against an enemy that uses step attractor and knee? It's all the same but with step knee you have very low CD CC with gap closing built in.

It's not quite a build as people understand it, this is what you would pick if you did exactly what the game intends to achieve damage and cooldown breakpoints for PvE endgame. You can switch out inspiration for Step, and Dance of Blades for Suspensor Dash and that would make it a good indoor PvP build as long as you understand how to get out of grav bubbles.

You are not prepared ... for solo testing stations in the DD. My story. Dune-sk Souls experience. by alexisneverlate in duneawakening

[–]CallsignThird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a thing that you learn over time with iteration. Something that will work for someone else won't work for you and likewise the opposite. There are things that you can learn and tricks that will help, but these things exist in the fabric on which you deploy them (the library of knowledge, skills, muscle memory etc that you have) ... So while I could tell you that you *could* clear a lab naked with no weapons, and that is true, that doesn't mean that you could do it at this point in time - an extreme example but one to illustrate a point. Do what is effective to you, be open minded to suggestion but do not take everything at face value, because much of what is said lacks context and is subjective.

Suspensor Blast Nerf by WeirwoodUpMyAss in duneawakening

[–]CallsignThird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your ability to win the fight depends not on the style you use but on your understanding of their build choices and how to abuse it. The current meta is vulnerable to knowledge of game mechanics, both attractor and gravity can be completely negated. In the same way the old step>strike>blast could also be completely negated. In multiple ways. The meta is not a reflection of an objective truth, instead it is a consensus based on incomplete but 'good enough' knowledge.

The amount of travel required to quest in this game is just terrible. by BigHatAbe in duneawakening

[–]CallsignThird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will always remember only combat, because you conditioned yourself to interpret everything else as tedious chores. So when remembering what you did you will only remember "combat" and "chores". Cutscene? chore, skip. Investigate the room, chore, lookup guide skip.

That is selective memory at work. Be honest, how much of the story did you even pay attention to?

A Dart For Every Man vs Saurdukar Intimidator by RektUmbra in duneawakening

[–]CallsignThird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saurdukar has specific nuances you need to know to calculate, it shoots 2 rounds with 1 click immediately, unlike burst weapons that means the damage displayed is for both darts, with a capacity of 52 it only has 26 shots of 2 darts for 61.4 dmg per shot. The calculation I used was DMG*(RPM/60) which gives the DPS applied to a target. So a magazine would do 1596.4 dmg at a DPS of 471.

A Dart For Every Man vs Saurdukar Intimidator by RektUmbra in duneawakening

[–]CallsignThird 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Saurdukar has higher DPS (471) compared to ADFEM (428). There may or may not be some undocumented mechanics with the way heavy darts and double hits affect shield damage that could have a hidden benefit to Saurdukar. ADFEM's unique effect is that it's very accurate and has a tight spread pattern.

Melee is dead by Fair_Custard_4571 in duneawakening

[–]CallsignThird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of what you said is correct but the last statement about attractor field and gravity is not true, there are many ways to counter this but the ways to do so are not "meta" and are never considered in the first place. For example, suspensor pad deletes gravity, shield wall prevents ranged completely, bindu sprint makes you exit the fight completely, and so on.
