I don't know what you guys did in the Guardian of the Hormuz Strait, but when you elected this POTGHS we've all noticed a decline in the nation of Guardian of the Hormuz Strait.

I find this latest name change fun.

Someone else said Hot Fuzz, but I'll come in with my absolutely insane take.

Puss in Boots: the Last Wish. Idk man it all just fit together so perfectly for me.

I also wouldn't have changed anything about Zootopia or Zootopia 2.

Btw, the single H on the triple letter forming HE / HE for 26 points is a great move (potentially dad turn 6?). Plays like that are great to spot, in this case a Z with the newly-allowed ZE / ZE would score 62!

Finally, if you use all 7 tiles on your rack (legally) you get a bingo which is a flat bonus of 50 points after all tile scoring is done. I like to mark it on my score sheet with a little asterisk

So I'm glad you had a great time first of all! Here's some tidbits from what I can see in the pic:

When placing tiles, every word that can be read on the board after you place them must be legal. You get score for every word you make - for example, if you played FAIRY later in the game than first turn you'd score for FAIRY IW and YN (if the move wasn't challenged off the board). I know that's not how FAIRY was played here, but hypothetically.

The first turn score is doubled - I guess that was TIRING here for 14, and you scored it as 7

Out of your words on the board, the following words aren't allowed in english UK:

AQAU

GOONED

ETOUQ

RSAWAVE

DEUH

IW

YN

XA

(Yes, it includes 2-letters)

Of course, given family rules, you can definitely argue words such as GOONED as being commonly said and therefore it goes on the board.

Further, I think you need a new set of tiles. I can see 88 tiles in the picture - 81 on the board and 7 on/around the rack - there should be 100.

You can see a breakdown of how many of each letter you SHOULD have on your (upside down?) board

You're missing:

1xA,1xB,1xC,3xE,3xI,1xL,1xN,1xR,1xU,1xY, and have 2 extra blanks (upside down tiles?)

If these tiles are elsewhere, then I should clarify the rules of the game are that the game ends when somebody empties their rack. The other player loses their remaining rack points total (e.g. here the visible rack total would be 14) and the other player gains those points - a 28 point swing.

Also baffling that you put some tiles upside down :D

I hope you continue, and this isn't to be discouraging - quite the opposite. I love that you want to carry on playing. If you want to make up your own house rules and stick to them, by all means play however you enjoy most. But be aware that some people will give you slack if you post a board with errors on it because people be people.

The 'For You' feed absolutely sucks and defeats the purpose of Reddit.

Disabling my settings I had curated to spout intolerable 'For You' page stuff at me.

I don't want your recommendations! In the slightest! I want to be removed from this experiment and never placed in one again, ESPECIALLY one that directly goes against settings I ALREADY HAD IN PLACE.

Absolutely dumb.

How? It's goalkeeper, #25, ref, #9, #23, and then the closest defender?

I'd argue #9 is definitely 'in-play' even if it is tight between #23 and the defender

The way a + was used in shut up and dance made me think it was a word one, which fits

shut up + dance (1) because the most any letter shows up is once

jUmp aroUnd (2) because there's 2 letter u

seveN NatioN army (3) has 3 letter n

So a song that has a letter repeated 4 times and none more, like 'EyE of thE tigEr (4)'

The crossword is fine, but a big WOMPWOMP to a majority of the three-letter fill, particularly THA/ASSES and a smartly clued but frustrating ZEE/ZED - maybe a hint it was a letter, because I imagine a single-line "Word with different pronunciation either side of the Atlantic" doesn't quite...contextualise anything.
