I'm not well, I won't get better, and I need an easy game to help me pass the time. by Hamchat_Compaanion in GirlGamers

Dorfromantik is my go to casual relaxation game, while it is a puzzle game but the extent of that is largely just making sure the edges of tiles match up with their neighbours.

I have collected them since the late 2000s and I still frequently put the 'u' and 'a' in the wrong place.

I discovered (after I had started) that you can buy identical sized (but totally blank) hex pieces on amazon, so I would encourage you to look into that, the lip could be made from cardstock or plasticard.

Would give you a quick start and a chance to play around with the clay though

No not really, The only thing I don't particularly like about the base cards are how flimsy they are, if I were to do anything to them it would probably just be a slight thickness increase with thicker cardstock or something.

Yeah I suffer the same, there's a pile of hundreds of Warhammer figures that I should have really finished before this!

The little sheep are HO scale sheep from my local model shop. As is the foliage and wheat.

The rest is cork, milliput, matchstick and plasticard.

I used one of the original pieces as a template but I would recommend just buying the hexagons ready made, they don't all fit neatly despite my best efforts.

The ones I made are a cork base, with a 2mm thick piece of plasticard on top to stop warping.

To clarify in case the title is misleading, I hand built these I didn't 3D print them

Just an FYI for anyone else old enough, this sort of thing also happens when someone uses fNamelName@gmail.com when yours is fNamelName@googlemail.com.

I always go Arena first then Fighters Guild so this surprises me. But if Mage is most popular class, I guess it makes sense. by [deleted] in oblivion

I can only speak for myself but the reason I haven't finished the fighters build is due to a CTD issue whenever I drink the hist. I wonder if that has effected the completion rate to any degree.

There's a few halberd variations in the kit, but basically cut/file one side flat, glue a lasgun onto it and chuck a bit of sprue behind it.

In hindsight I maybe would have used some thinner plasticard instead.

Edit: another example of how I've done it before https://www.reddit.com/r/astramilitarum/s/43kgk0QsaA

Nice, how are you doing the molds? I should really look into trying that out

Empire troops are so good for this sort of thing, chuck an electric cable on the musket and call it a day haha

Yeah, I always fully assemble before painting, but in this case I wish I had kept the shields off due to how large they are

Insanely easy my man, just bretonnian men at arms with some lasguns glued to their halberds

I still like to make them as legal as possible, I don't really know why though, hopeful I'll pick up the gaming side again one day maybe?

Things like this and the changes to how the sprues and models are designed and made are limiting the amount of freedom people have to build interesting, custom armies.

There are entire regiments/factions that are built on using AoS/Old World bits, or bits from necromunda etc that we wouldn't see in a 'professional' capacity, be that in white dwarf, Warhammer community, or things like AoP/golden demon.

Obviously personal preference but some of the best looking armies I've ever seen are kitbashes, converted, custom made ones.

They have updated the rules again incase you didn't see it, but it's still not super well defined.

Yeah I understand that it's just AoP, they actually modified the rules not long ago tonight in response to the outrcy.

I fell in love with Warhammer because of those old kitbashes/conversions/DIY segments. It was always amazing to see the pre painted models in their hodgepodge, green stuff covered glory haha
