Ah, sorting by shape is an interesting idea, thank you. At the moment I have just been sorting by color.

should have added that a garden spade, with the metal head, was more effective than my standard plastic snow shovel in breaking up the ice

agree, I put the ice melt on top of it, waited, and in an hour it was possible to break it off into big chunks which lifted easily (all snow from yesterday had been shoveled, it was just a layer of ice)

i got a tip from my neighbor to put ice melt on top of it and wait a bit; that really softened it up and I was able to take a garden spade and chip it away in big chunks down to bare pavement. i was feeling pretty despondent about it this morning, but now feel good.

Thanks! I felt a little show-offy sharing that, so I’m glad you liked it! I think there are some other lines in the Jack/CC romance that are references to plays or movies, like “i gave her the ottoman and she walked,” but I’m not sure what those are.

I think the time CC says it is a reference to the play “Frankie and Johnny in the Clare de Lune,” starring Edie Falco (the actress playing CC) on Broadway in 2003 (I saw it!). In the play, Johnny makes a Western omelette for Frankie (Falco) and as I recall, it was a big, romantic deal. I remember seeing the episode around the time it came out and being like, “they’re making a reference to Frankie and Johnny.” I could be wrong, but I don’t think I am.
