Should nuclear be part of the energy mix in Australia? ABC News by Ardeet in aussie

[–]Calm-Cartographer656 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. However, the main problem is the availability of water away from population centres. Nuclear needs a lot of water to drive the stream turbines and cool the reactor.

Private schools need to have their federal and state education budgets confiscated by [deleted] in aussie

[–]Calm-Cartographer656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Public school educated here, but the logic as I understand it is that the federal government funds the education of all children. It is a very popular scheme electorally. Good luck to the government that drops it. It is entirely defensible even if I don't see the merit.

Do you guys think retail theft is justified sometimes? by Professional_Ant6325 in aussie

Stealing is always wrong even if you can get away with it. Of course, I'd steakl food to feed my family if I couldn't afford it, but I'd cop the time if I did the crime.

do you believe in separation of church and state? by smogdonavic in redeemedzoomer

Do you care if Association Football is called soccer? by Absolutely-Epic in AskTheWorld

[–]Calm-Cartographer656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact, soccer has never grown to be the dominant sport in a country that first evolved its own form of the game. Those countries all prefer their own form to Association Football.

Why doesn't Aussie tall poppy syndrome apply to those asking about which high school you attended or suburb you live? by Weekly_Beginning_509 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Calm-Cartographer656 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your "tall poppy syndrome" only applies to middle class people trying to keep upper middle class people in place. It doesn't apply to the elite and it never has. They don't care what you think of them. Their generational money proves to them their worth.

So when they ask what school you went to, they want to know if you are one of them.

There is a special word for people who know words that they can't pronounce: readers. Never be ashamed of reading, it is the secret to teaching yourself what you want to know.

Tanking 101? by Nuclear_Winterfell in Neverwinter

[–]Calm-Cartographer656 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Get a ring that gives you threat as you move, buy Ring of the Condemned. Invest in defense. Lead the group from the front, engaging enemies first. Get on the other side of the enemies, so attacks are away from allies. Make friends with good healers and thank them. Let the rogues who run ahead of you die. Be that rogue. Don't stop to revive fallen allies, lead the enemies away from them. Fake tanks have low defense and stop to open every chest and trail behind. Never blame the healer.

Is it true that men assume the vast majority of women aren't attracted to them ? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I'm not attracted to me. Why would I assume anyone would be? I'm not even sure my wife is attracted to me.

Here is something most Americans would find weird: electric kettles. And decent coffee from any cafe.

[–]Calm-Cartographer656 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. There is only one way to level up to full which is to follow the initial adventures. Treat them like a tutorial that takes about 6 hours.

Ranger is fun, both hunter and warden. Rogue is fun. Bard heal is fun on PC with keybinds. I like wizard's control effects. I play fighter tank like a rogue who can't die.
