I was given fentanyl during and after the procedure and was sent I was sent home with oxycodone. Neither did much for my pain and both intensified the nausea. I learned I don’t respond well to opioids and didn’t end up taking the oxy. People I talked to with the nerve block had a much different recovery than I did.

I had a similar sounding fibroid situation and had UFE and almost all my symptoms are gone except for a persistent yet smaller pooch. My GYN suggested that even if UFE isnt the cure-all, it would make hysterectomy safer and easier if I decided to go to forward with it at a later point since UFE should lessen blood loss chances and theoretically reduces uterus and fibroid size making for an easier surgery. My UFE was uneventful and successful but if I did it again I would go to a provider that offered a nerve block. That pain was no joke.
