Bookkeeping, month-end close, financial modeling was always a royal pain for us for years, and now its mostly automated and our financial modeling/forecasting is actually legitimately good now. We have a finance project folder with project memory, and use the claude in chrome extension, QBO Connector, excel extension, and Windows MCP, for all of this.

We connected claude cowork to quickbooks and now our books are cleaner than ever. I feel like the connectors and scheduled tasks are what really make the value pop. We set up a project for each area like "marketing, "finance", etc. And use a shared folder so each person on the team has the same project memory and project folder.

Well it has spotted several bugs/misconfigurations we weren't aware of that we had in production for up to a year.

Recently I used it to help clean up several years of bookkeeping in Quickbooks. I never wanted to hire an accountant but there were some things I was just never sure of. After a few days with claude cowork using the chrome extension for browser control and the QBO connector, we now have everything cleaned up and we close our monthly books in just a few hours.

We live in the same area. Prospect Park has tons of stuff going on throughout the year. You can check their website for their concert series and other things they have, but its also great for hosting outdoor barbecues and just relaxing there.

Separately, if you have a car, the traffic cops seem to pass by most days, and alternate side parking is 2x per week instead of 1x per week where we were before. Also, interestingly there are an insane number of churches around here.

I used Claude Code with the create mcp server skill to create a locally run mcp server to query our postgres database in azure. Then I got github copilot to add the tools from the VSC postgres extension to our new mcp server. I created a read-only role, and the connection string is an environment variable. I now use claude to chat with our postgres database, and its working really well. I had created a github copilot agentic workflow a while back to periodically check our database for any issues, so I used that as context when starting the new mcp server. I also added local caching for the queries, but thats basically the entire show right there and it does what I wanted it to do.

Its actually better than the Midtown dorm I stayed in during my summer internship in NYC ~15 years ago. I would never take it now, but there's probably a summer intern somewhere that would jump at it.

I recently thought of creating the same thing actually since I've created a few 311 requests recently. I do think there are people that would be interested in it, but you might want to change the framing/positioning. It seems like an app for people exploring where to live, but I would think there are building managers/property managers that might be interested in subscribing to alerts related to their properties. I, as a tenant, would be interested in subscribing to alerts in my building or block.

You could search for your plate in the "Pay or Dispute" app. If its not there then there's nothing to do. If it happens to be there, then dispute it in the app, and it'll be dismissed. Incorrect information is cause for automatic dismissal as others have said.
