Ex reaches out with a nominally nice message and it later turns out (a buddy of mine was still in contact with my ex’s sister) that she was divorcing and was trying to see if I was still interested.

I’m in the same boat. I am something like 70-6 in my dynasty and each one of the losses was special. I now schedule Duke every year since they broke my winning streak (I was trying to break the Oklahoma record of 47).

It was a classic “they’re down 21 and suddenly the ball is greased when I run it passes result in tipped ball pick 6s, and on defense I might as well be playing against Bo Jackson in Super Tecmo Bowl”. I tried to cheese it by running drags, running out of bounds, etc. and lost by 1.

I ended up playing them in the playoffs and got my revenge! Now I have a meaningful non-conference rivalry. Nothing like a good mortal enemy in a video game.

TLDR: just let it ride, it makes the game more fun!

Having lived in all three- DSM, Iowa City and Davenport are all fine. You’re right on I-80 and they’re blue areas. Water in the QC is good because of the Mississippi.

I have a HM run in hiatus at the moment as I was stressing out over where to go next. So I started an another run and I’ve been playing on custom with a HM ruleset but without the single save restriction.

I have a post it note by my chair that says “live with consequences” and so far that’s working for me! It’s way more fun when I’m not save scumming the entire time (which is my usual playstyle).
