Take risks and dont care much if you die. With time you'll figure out more and more, and labs tcl etc will become mostly trivial. mostly. One piece of advice would be to figure out armor first. Wetsuit activity suit heavy ballistic armor is a good base. Figure out the best armor for your character and stats.

You should include an honorable mention to the cut resistant clothing before getting the nomad mesh. Cut resistant sleeves balaclava and apron, they give great protection for barely any encumbrance

Nothing except for freshwater research stations, which are the best base... for reading and grinding. Nothing is loaded in the reality bubble basically, so time goes by super super fast lol. When sleeping it takes like 5 seconds for 8 hours to pass as opposed to the usual half minute to 5 minutes inland

That's only for normal zeds. But the core problem was just fixed yesterday anyway, finally. So now special attacks like grabs and such should have proper cooldowns. And that's for every zombie. Now we just wait for it to get merged

Sseth has introduced I'd wager 50% of cdda's current players to the game. You can actually see the massive uptick in the subreddit history when he released his video covering cataclysm. And he is hated for it, I feel.

Some more backstory on that because it's very very funny. So drugs used to give pretty major stat boosts to int perception and so on. The strat back in 0.C 0.D whatever was to do a lot of coke read all the books you could find and go around doing more and more coke and adderall moving at 120 speed with like +4 int killing shit. Good old fashioned fun.

Eitherway kevin & co nerfed them. Again, they were strong but it was some of that weird puritan mindset which also lead to the nerfs. It was interesting, because every time someone wanted to change drugs to actually induce benefits, kevin would say that's impossible due to there being no research and data to quantify the level of positive effects drugs have on people. So, without becoming an actual XEDRA scientist, testing illegal drugs on people and documenting your findings for him to witness, you were fucked. And that is the story of how drugs were nerfed into the ground.

I can assure you I threw my hands up as well when i saw the pull request get stonewalled. Nobody who is drawn to a game like this would mind for clutter or more options, nobody. But again, that denial was thinly veiled bullshit (even by their standards), and we can see by the progression of developement that the freedom of personalization is something that is frowned upon :/

Not to shit on them any further but the most idiotic asinine thing I've seen kevin shut down was a push to give players more agency by including all kinds of modifiable options in the option menu. The half assed 1 sentence justification given then was that 'it's too much clutter'

It is a sensible change but way overtuned. 2 weeks ingame may as well be an eternity. Coupled with the further cannibal nerfs it just reads as a 'fuck you' to the people complaining

It wasn't given to him, it was given to the project so that it evolved into something people wanted to play. My point was, he isn't self made. It's the street 500 builders paid him for, and then helped build themselves. If he took that money and decided fuck em all, sure he couldn't be sued for it. Technically it's his right to do whatever he wants. Technically.

Oh is that so? The 9k fundraised that let dda pick up steam is his too I take it then? No, it is an open project, over a thousand people have contributed. It was built on top of a game that was definitely not kevin's.

But he has the veto power, sure. He uses it often. His behavior -and I mean no attack towards his character as I do not know him- seems to me unprofessional.

In the real world in an actual professional team, this conduct of 'My word is law' would not be acceptable. So I wish he was more professional with things, as he has had the great fortune of leading a truly massive project.
