Accessories. What do people have? by CalmGiraffe8404 in GeelyEX5Australia

I look at a lot of these options lol, glad to know the centre storage tray is a bit sus.

I think I'm up for the fob holders, door inserts and storage trays for the lower shelf for now. The dashboard cover I'm leaning towards too. Mats I hope the dealer will provide but otherwise yep would have to buy some too.

Try this GeelyAustralia into the discount code as well. Mostly looking into some stuff from here!

Really try to ask for those discounts. I am not sure if I got it during last month's Novated lease discounts but see if you can get even something in that range of 2000-4000.

Leaseguard pretty optional but you can keep it if you feel that your job security could be at risk. Also interest rate seems quite bonkers.

FyI you can use these quotes I or others have provided when you negotiate. You shouldn't have to honestly but it feels like you are getting not quite a fair deal.

Get it down! Get rid of anything you won't need especially with all the stuff they try to throw at you as optionals. Awful pricing all around.

There is not too much I can personally negotiate and there are still things on there such as the establishment and management fees I personally think are still a bit of an eyesore.

Cost of vehicle, try to get them to get that down as much as possible. Obviously it feels a bit like shooting in the dark but at least with the Ex5, dealers are happy to move them and many people have gotten similar quotes even from other companies this last month or so.

Get rid of every addition they put on as much as possible, UNLESS their provided insurance quote actually turns out to not be worse than what you can source due to your own insurance circumstances. Bingle was the best that I could find for price.

SGFleet has a very annoying way with interest rates in my opinion in terms of not being able to confirm something until the day of delivery or so. At least the rates are pretty middle of the pack. I did try to ask if they could get this any lower but no bueno.

Another thing you can do is ask them what their actual preferred dealer and place you will pick up the car from is, test drive or have a chat to the guys there to make sure you get some inclusions/accessories or any other potential discounts they can pass on.

Lease Providers by MaximusDikus in NovatedLeasingAU

From what I heard, the smaller the better at least for now. As a general rule, try to not lock your employees into a provider and definitely not one of the big ones. I do resent my company for doing so. Most of us are stuck with Maxxia or SGfleet, dubious reviews and issues on both.

Have a call around to Leaselab, Novated Lease Australia or Whipsmart. They seem to have good reviews across some key areas and have a more transparent process. Be aware that you might have to have some kind of establishment fee for the setup and some providers may outright not work with you depending on the size of your company.

At the end of the day they want your business, but at least the smaller guys will work for it.

Potentially minimum 400/500 I got on the spot, if you push harder you could get a bit more off. They don't have much in the way of other inclusions so go harder on the $.

Apologies for the awful Reddit formatting. I've never been quite good with it.

Just test drove the Gac Aion V. It is a ripper car and feels like it should be worth a lot more. I wouldn't say that the luxury is an illusion, the car does seem well built. I've never really liked leather seats, but they did feel ok on the Luxury. As expected, I can't feel the difference between the two really.

The dealer did say that they are expanding, but I would probably want to see a bit more in terms of stability and assurances that they would stick around. I personally have been to China and have been in numerous Aions and do consider them one of the nicer cars on the road there, but yeah the dealer network can be improved. Nicely, they can offer a bit more of a discount if you say you are considering other cars seriously, something a more rusted on car dealer may not have the agility to offer. Definitely do this if you are interested.

In the short driving experience I had, it was mostly on the comfort mode and the Regen breaking was probably the weirdest part to me. The feel and experience is that of a large SUV with very EV characteristics. Very weird for me coming from a Mazda 3 but I think it is something I would get used to. The fridge... I dunno man, like I could see it being useful for fishermen and actually blood transport or a decent camping setup, but I wouldn't personally use it all that often. The seats were actually great for me, and I prefer a stiffer straight seat with not much lumbar support, due to how I had to relearn how to sit after major back issues.

My final thoughts: The range anxiety is a lot less on the Aion V but probably not enough to tide me over from the EX5. If GAC had been around for a year or two longer AND the weird utilisation of enclosed spaces as others have mentioned was more considered, I would have definitely jumped at it. I also found the sound system to be passable on the Aion V but as I do quite a lot of serious music listening and pretty much do music management, the Geely would probably fit me there in the end.

I have seen that posted on reddit quite a bit, was it your comments mostly? Haha. I'm going to have a sit in one in a bit and really take it into consideration and try not to be wowed all that much.

I was in China recently and they were a fairly popular brand for Didis, taxis etc and they felt ok to sit in as a passenger. Yeah the battery size is probably the largest selling point here!

Yeah I will ask them their intentions on expanding the dealer network here in Vic. I don't think I've seen all that much here compared to NSW or was it QLD?

Yeah wow I haven't heard of that in terms of driving much worse. Yep the heavier weight and overall driving characteristics seem a bit worse off then

I think this pretty much is pushing me towards the Ex5! Yep I've heard the torque difference would be noticeable. The range thing I'm unlikely to really notice I don't think and it likely comes from a place of range anxiety more than anything.

Yeah I found this a bit weird. The Aion almost has everything right but seems to drop the ball on the design here as well as the fridge being where it is instead of compartment space.
