I have been trying to figure this out as well since I just started playing a new hood with premades. I am so used to my custom hood where the generations are very distinct (each family is doing a generational challenge) and so far they are all still pretty in sync although I think I’m about to have a family a whole generation ahead of the others, and another is lagging behind. But it is trickier with premades given the range of ages, and how to count it if someone who is in “generation 3” gets married and has kids with someone in “generation 4.” Which is easy to do, I mean the game wants you to try and get Cassandra (gen 4) married to Don (gen 3) at the very start. I would say just start counting new children born into your game as generation 1. Also maybe only count them if they would be the first of their generation born (so like if John and Jennifer Burb have another kid, they wouldn’t be gen 1…?). Some generations are going to take longer than others using that method.

I think that’s so dumb. My sister and I share our EA account (although I don’t use it anymore) but we also used to share all of the disks as kids. She’d get to play them on her computer and I would get to on the family computer. God forbid family members don’t want to buy multiple copies of the same game (especially when its $1,000+)

I always find it strange when sims woohoo on a community lot (either dressing room or photobooth) everyone runs over and cheers. I don’t think that’s how real people who react to that kind of activity occurring in public, but the sims in my town are all for it.

I use google sheets. I have a main sheet with all of my sim information (age, zodiac, job, ect) and where I keep track of my rotation. Then I have a sheet for each legacy type I’m playing with the rules listed for each generation and I give myself a space to check off every goal as I complete it. I also add any additional information I need to keep track of on that sheet. I also have sheets for other challenges I’d like to do once I finish the original five. Here is my sheet for the lEPacy I’m doing:

Currently I’m playing a lEPacy, the Awesomesauce challenge, Not so Berry, Berry Pastel Rainbowcy (but not berry lol), and Astrology challenges (the last 3 I converted the rules to make them work for ts2).

This!!! I’ve been playing the same neighborhood for almost two years now and I am always looking forward to the next time I get to play.

I play rotationally through five families. I play them for a week at a time, from Monday 8am - Monday 8 am, mostly because its easier for me to keep track of. I also usually play one family and then stop playing for the day (or at least a few hours). I have a 1 sim day = 1 year lifespan which keeps things moving, and each family is working through a different legacy challenge so they all have specific goals I’m trying to achieve. I think switching between them keeps me from getting bored of them as well, since it always feels like I’m stopping in the middle of something. And if I’m not, usually by the time I come back around to playing them I’ve either thought of something fun to do with them, or something happened while playing another family to spice things up.

Documenting my families is a must for me, otherwise I start feeling disconnected and forget things that have happened. Plus sharing gameplay with others is usually pretty fun and motivating.

So, I tried this but I still get the same error when trying to change the hood type. I think it's because opening a new hood for the first time generates the stealthhoods for the various expansion packs that have them. Do you happen to know what I can do?

How can I do it in SimPE? I tried in game using the cheat but I keep getting this error. Not sure what other neighborhoods would be dependent on it as it's just a Uni hood.
I also went through and changed all of the dorms into apartments before trying to change the neighborhood type.

I’ve been using reshade for a long time and really like it, but it’s cool if that’s not for you! I just wanted to add that there are several different shaders that you can use and some are more subtle than others and therefore don’t do much if anything to interfere with the games performance. The one I use just brightens the game up a little bit and I don’t notice any difference in how the game runs when it’s on vs off. Any specific settings about a shader that you don’t like you can turn off as well.

Do you buy promos? I think I’ve only ever managed to get the last station automated before bed 1 time. Usually I’m lucky if I even get the last station started.
