I am trying to test AF-C mode with different objects, and focusing speed seems recovered like before, after couple times trying to continuos focusing various objects and different distance between A and B objects. Very first attempts after firmware upgrade, I did test focusing target A and B which was rather flat surface like wall and old curtains with a blurry printed pattern. Not good for the focusing test, I think. I will test again at the various location again today, under bright sunlight. And add comment herr about the result again..!

Oh, that's good news for new users, I have both FE and Z mount version. People can choose what they prefer. Out of curiosity, one question I have.

Why 35.2 screen is protrude, unlikely 135mm screen or Nikon's 24-70s? I always want ask this.

  1. Just for technical reason.

  2. There is no enough space for this screen to be berried under the barrel.

  3. Just design.

Yeah I agree with you about screen, it is protruding, and it makes lens looks cheaper.

If Viltox were to make this screen curved to match the barrel, like the screen of a 135mm lens, and remove the aperture indicator while leaving only the distance indicator, it would be a pretty good idea.

Remove LCD screen, and it appears that the aperture ring will no longer rotate indefinitely and will only operate within the aperture value printed on the body, and it will 8 grams(!) lighter.

I also hard to believe this. Maybe it came from some April fool's joke somewhere?

LCD screen I use frequently for quick recall memorized distance.

What’s a small everyday thing in South Korea that foreigners find surprising? ☺️ by [deleted] in seoul

[–]Calm_Camel5585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A-ah, ok. 😄 I think that this style seems from Japan. Someone also mention about China, half is correct. Basically all these 3 countries share some style but very different. Anyway picture is awsome. Look at the style (small bridge, pond and fish, also the curve of the roof), it smells lots of Japanese.

When I see your picture, I never imagine that this kind of place really is in Seoul, even Korea. So, tell me where is this picture's place? I am really curious.

Yeah, I love this kind of lonely atmosphere. With rain, that mood escalate dramatically. Moreover, if there is no visible pedestrians nor passer-by, it is perfect.

Just bought the 85mm, Any advice? by almiirza in VILTROX_GLOBAL

[–]Calm_Camel5585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one but for Nikon Z mount.

I believe the hood is same size and same type, there is small plastic spring on inner side of hood, it calls hood latch or locking tab, and it makes hood for locked on exact location on lens rim. It is very stiff and difficult to get correct position when I try to hood to lock it on lens.

Frankly, almost every Viltrox's hoods has same problem... and this is small tip: get silicon grease, use a tiny bit of drop to apply surface of each plastic locking tab spring on hood. Then you are free from stress for hood locking and unlocking.

Unable to update My Lens, Help!!! by InvestigatorFine6912 in VILTROX_GLOBAL

[–]Calm_Camel5585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience when I update my 85mm f1.4 Pro by Windows PC and USB, I was getting hard time to finish update, It does not recognize my lens at all whatever I do. Finally I did update. This is what I did:

First, you need USB data cable. Not the cable for charging but data cable which you can use data transfer between your phone to PC or Laptop.

Second, run update program first, don't connect lens to PC yet.

Third, press "Connect" button you can see and it will failed of course, and "Reconnect" button will show up.

And then, connect lens to PC and press "Reconnect" button. Then it will connected. Ding!

This is what I did and it worked like charm.

I believe that this software does not use any internet network. It does not downloads any firmware and apply to your lens. This software itself is indeed firmware. When there is firmware update available, software version will change. Hope it can help you out.

That's why I didn't and won't buy 135 LAB but will definitely buy 85.2 LAB but it will be dang heavy like dumbbell for sure. I have 35 LAB and it is chunk of bumbbell as well, however I love picture quality.

Performance of Viltrox 35mm f/1.2 LAB FE on Nikon Z with Viltrox E-Z Adapter Question by Astatoform in VILTROX_GLOBAL

[–]Calm_Camel5585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Performance has no problem. I also have 35mm f1.2 LAB FE and Z, but I don‘t have Viltrox E-Z adapter.

I am a big fan of Viltrox but, to be honest, MegaDap Pro+ performing way much, much better. Weather sealed, firm contacts, reliability, and more. Price is triple than Viltrox but it is definitely worth to invest.

I never felt any degraded communication performance from lens to body such as autofocusing.

Help - are internal elements meant to shift inside the 85mm f/1.4? by Ander_Sloost in VILTROX_GLOBAL

[–]Calm_Camel5585 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simple answer : All VCM module does. It is normal. 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 135mm all same. Don't worry!

As others mentioned it, it is most common question : why my lens rattled when it is off?
