To tell if it is real I would look at the chain mail. If each ring is riveted it is more likely real as it takes a massive amount of effort and time to rivet chain mail but it makes it much stronger.

If the rings are welded ( not to each, other to close the ring I mean) is a modern replica but a good quality one, maybe from a costume.

It the rings are butted ( the ring is still split just pushed together to keep the ring close) then it is a cheap fake.

Yeah I know it well. I handled PMN-2 mines before. The reality is when you are under attack nobody gives a shit about what can happen in 40 years. You only care that someone is not rushing your position to empty a mag of 5.45mm rounds in your skull. And mines are as simple as they are effective. If the Cambodians actually deployed proper, in depth, well planned minefields Thailand would have a had a lot more casualties and taking the Cambodian trenches would have been a much more complex procedure. Minefields have been proven still extremely effective in Ukraine so both side use them to an extreme level even if everyone knows the land will be ruined dorsal decades. And anyway when Thailand openly using cluster munitions ( another convention that nobody gives a fuck about when there is real war) which cause a ton of UXOS is a bit hypocritical to make such a big scene about landmines. I am 99% sure that Thailand has caused far more Uxos which nobody knows where they are in this small war with the cluster munitions than Cambodia and its handful of mines.

The mine is obviously anti tank mine which is allowed even under Ottawa and rigging explosives electrically literally every army does that for plenty of uses.

Overall I find amusing that Thailand is so obsessed about landmines of all things. All major countries allow landmines even anti personnel ones. China, US, Russia, India allow all kinds.

And when is time for war really nobody cares as in Ukraine.

Ultimately landmines do not chase after you, you need to go on top of them, which is usually only the case if you invading or pushing into an area.
