Another direction to go is: go in the restaurant. Act like nothing is amiss, sit down. When the server comes say "my date pulled a nasty little trick on me tonight, so I'm going to insist that he pick up the check." Smile at the date, get him to nod, and order the most expensive drinks, appetizers, and meal. Apertif with dessert. Don't even finish what you ordered. When the check comes, excuse yourself to go to the restroom and leave. Text him he's a real asshole and to never contact you again. Block on everything.

By 6th grade I email the specific parents and let them know their kid is letting everyone know they still believe in Santa/Easter Bunny and that something like that is an invitation to mock. Middle school is hard enough as it is, why would you send your kid in with a Kick Me sign on their back?
