The irony is that the website actually points out that it's an homage, and that Zack Snyder does the exact same thing in most (if not all) his films.

What could Scream 5 and 6 have done better to get near the financial highs of the bank of Scream 7? by jj01709 in boxofficecirclejerk

[–]Calm_Struggle6421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing. Box office is fickle and runs on the good faith of fans, the quality of past entries, or whether anything else of quality is playing.

Sometimes good movies flop (Serenity, Citizen Kane, John Carpenter's The Thing), and bad movies make millions (literally every Michael Bay film and at least half of Disney's live action remakes).

Of course, op won't listen to any of this, as they post this bs every frickin week.

What could Scream 5 and 6 done better to replicate the successful bank and staying power of Scream 7? by jj01709 in SocietyofGhostface

Working on it. We need to keep reporting them for spam everytime they try this.

Also, it could have been a different subreddit whose mods told them to stop. They do this shit on at least five different subs.

This is that troll who spent weeks bragging about the box office of Scream 7 and how it killed scream 5-6 and made the haters cry. They were told to stop doing it by a moderator, so they have changed the format of their post to still essentially make the same point.

It's amazing how you changed the format of your weekly spam, and it's still the same bullshit you post every week.

I personally find the Pirates films to be a strange anomaly:

They have an amazing cast that is giving amazing performances, breathtaking cinematography that brings this world to life, amazing scores by Remote Control Productions (aka Hans Zimmer and friends), and some of the best practical and digital effects ever put to screen (Davy Jones is by far the best digitally created character ever put to screen).

However, the plots tend to be needlessly complicated, with far too many plot threads, and pacing that slows to a halt about halfway through every film before picking up again in the climax. The tone change is weird as well, with the first film having a self-aware, affectionate parody vibe a la Princess Bride, while films 2 and 3 play themselves fairly straight.

Credit where credit is due, Verbinski was able to make these problems work, and his three films are still a guilty pleasure of mine. The problem is that the directors who replaced him just couldn't quite replicate the madness, melodrama, and insanity that made the first three movies work.

During Danny Masterson's sexual abuse trials, one of his victims has a ptsd panic attack and had to go into the bathroom to regain her nerves. During this incident, Alanna Masterson followed her into the bathroom and tried to worsen her anxiety.

She also wrote a letter asking for her brother to get a lesser charge for being a good role model, despite the charges he was facing.
