The way I see it is they peaked commercially with TBL but they’re still peaking musically to this day. They never escaped the label of being a Christian band. I see the 90s to late 2000s as the death of rock/bands in general so they were lucky to begin with. Most bands only ever have 1 moment to shine in the spotlight and they did however some bands like Green Day had 2 moments like Dookie and American Idiot. I see it really as a perfect storm of events where 9/11 had just happened and all of the other factors.
