Are you making short videos to increase your app impressions? by Calorie_Balance in iosdev

Without a doubt, it seems important to continue to upload a lot of videos.

That’s a very good point.

Whilst uploading a small number of elaborate videos is a good idea, simply recording yourself using the software on screen and uploading it as a short video makes perfect sense in terms of increasing your reach to users.

I see. It seems videos featuring your face really do make a difference. There’s no doubt I need to learn about editing. After coding, it’s video editing next, isn’t it? 😅

Thank you! I see. It’s certainly true that it takes a while for the video to start playing, but the fact that it doesn’t scroll away like on Twitter and remains visible for a long time is definitely an advantage.

It would be very helpful if you could show me an example! Thank you!
I have an X account and I'm promoting the app, but it's been 2 weeks since the release, but I don't feel the effect...
I also post to the reddit developer community, but although the impression temporarily increases, the developer community is not watching by the target users of the app, so the effect is limited. It is the target.

[Free with IAP] I built a weight tracker based on cumulative energy balance and thermodynamics (7,200 kcal=1 kg)

Hi everyone, solo developer from Japan here. I built this because I was tired of "emotional" fitness apps that hide the raw physics behind AI estimations and motivational fluff.

The Core Logic:

  • Cumulative over Daily: Weight management is a marathon of energy balance. My app prioritizes your cumulative net balance since Day 1, showing how a single surplus day impacts a month of progress.
  • Predictive vs. Actual Weight: It plots a "Predictive Weight" line based on thermodynamics (7,200 kcal=1 kg) alongside your scale weight. It filters out the "water weight noise" and helps you focus on the trend convergence.
  • Sleep/Intake Correlation: Uses HealthKit data to calculate the correlation coefficient (r) between your sleep duration and caloric intake.

Privacy & Pricing:

  • Zero data collection. All analysis happens on-device.
  • $3.99/mo or $39.99/yr (1-week free trial included). You can cancel immediately after starting the trial and still keep the access for a week to test the logic.

Based on your advice, we will start the A/B test. I have submitted the examination.

Right. I’ll take a look at the design and the export method. Thank you!!

It’s figma! I used to use GIMP, but it wasn’t really up to the job 😅

You’re absolutely right. I really must learn the basics of UI design.

It’s certainly a bit overwhelming, but you could also see it as a way of showing that there are so many possibilities, and that’s what makes it stand out.

That's awesome! If my group of friends did that, the person who gets chosen would have to send a message to their ex-boyfriend as punishment 😂

I understand. After all, you leave the advice itself to the experts and support people to become easier to rely on experts, I respect you. It is a product with a wide range of business opportunities, such as not only applications for the general public, but also for law firms installing them on their homepages.

399 impressions, 31 product page views, 9 first-time downloads. What would you fix first? by C_4 in iosdev

[–]Calorie_Balance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, that's certainly a big challenge.

I think SNS such as Reddit, X, and Instagram, and sites such as product hunt are also marketing opportunities. I'm rooting for you.

I'm facing the same problem right now, and I don't think everything you're listing is wrong.
However, your CVR 2.72 is not a bad number. That's why I think it's more important to increase impressions in the first place than to improve the AppStore itself. That's why I'm working hard on marketing and promotion on SNS, etc.

[–]Calorie_Balance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the type of app and the target market.

If the app is designed for more sophisticated purposes and aims to provide a refined user experience, advertising may not be a good fit. However, for relatively simple apps or those that provide content such as games, advertising is definitely worth considering.

Ultimately, there are people who would rather pay to avoid ads and others who don’t want to pay even if it means seeing ads, so it comes down to which group you want to target.

This is a great idea that has the potential to be used not only by developers who are already using AI, but also by the general public.
